Hey all. I noticed Jaleo has a "Lake Side Dining Room" option when booking. I can't find any picture of the exact view or dining area. Does anyone know if this area would allow for a good view of the drone show?

TIA!

Been several articles about that they are doing a Dining Package for the Drone Show in that area. Flat fee event with a designated menu bookable on Open Table last time I checked. Sounds like only those folks have access to the viewable tables.

Looks like two options; Cocktail Hour or Tasting Experience.

When making a reservation on Open Table, there is a "Lake Side Dining" reservation option that doesn't require the cocktail hour or tasting experience be selected. I thought those reservations put you outdoors on their patio area.

I just made one, here is what it shows up as:
  • Jaleo - Disney Springs

  • Reservation confirmed

  • 8 (Standard • Lakeside Dining Room) Sat, Jul 20 at 8:30 PM

I haven't been but I imagine Lake Side is where the drone show is?

You might want to call the restaurant when they open to verify but I read that as you will be in the DINING ROOM (inside) maybe on the side of restaurant facing water. And since it says "Standard" to me that means basic seating, nothing special. It would not make sense to sell a viewing package on the PATIO and then seat guests who did not pay for it.

I might be wrong and you got lucky but I would call to verify in case it is not what you want.

* I just looked at their website and they have an interactive floor plan. A space called "Lakeside Dining Room" is inside with glass walls, but many tables are obstructed. And then outside those walls is a patio with seating.

We ended up being brought upstairs and I would describe it as a partial view. We went back another night and found the view next to Summer On The Lake to be good. But the show wasn't interesting enough for us to stay a second time.

We wouldn't do Jaleo again, in general. We fully understood what it was but man, it was only of the most expensive and least filling meals we've had on property. Definitely better for a date night and not a larger group.

Their chicken thigh (Pollo con pisto Manchego) was one chicken thigh for $19. Sausage (Butifarra casera con mongetes) was one, possibly two, sausage links cut in to a few pieces for $15. It's not like these were served with sides to make it a meal. Again, fully understand what tapas are and looked over the menu but it was still less than we expected. You pretty easily need 3 plates per person.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I was looking at a spot for around 9 people and was considering it. Think I'm just gonna do Rag Road for that.

@Nxsteven tapas are appetizers not dinner🙂
You can make a meal from them but as you noted it takes a few plates to accomplish that goal.

The drone show is only about 10 minutes long so we bypassed all the eateries and just sat for a few minutes and watched. It reminds me of the electric dragon show on the lake GF and Poly are on.

Yes. The wait staff usually tells you that you will need 2-3 plates if you are only eating tapas. That amounts to $30-60 for dinner, which isn't out of line for a WDW area restaurant.

For me, Jaleo is in my top 5 (maybe top 3) restaurants on property.

For us, as well too. The last time I ate at the Orlando restaurant was NYE 2019 and I’m thinking of returning for this coming NYE. 👍🏾
