Jakob's Pre Make-A-Wish Trip ( Big Give Photos 3/13/09)

That is exciting news! I can't wait to see Jake's smile at Disney and Spring Training!

Finally have sometime to sit down and go thru the boards and I need to go read some pre trips too...

Now I realize this is really cool news to us since we are HUGE baseball and Red Sox fans...

About a month ago, my father was at a golfing torunment and he ran into the an owner of a big insurance company here in Boston. They got to talking and my father told him that his grandson was going on his MAW trip to Disney at the end of March. Well not knowing, he is a big supporter of the MAW foundation here in Boston. So when he heard that, he asked my dad if Jake liked the Red Sox's...UGHHHHH...YEAH... He said, how would your grandson like to go to a Sox spring training game against the Braves as an add on to his MAW trip when he in FL. Of course my dad was speechless...and said, I don't know, I have to talk to my son-in-law. So next thing I know my husband gets and email from my dad with all the information this gentleman have given my dad as to who to contact.

So my husband emailed this person, and they asked for us to send something that showed our dates when we were coming down and that it is thru MAW cause that way they get to do something extra special for Jake...NOW...all I know right now is that we have 6 tickets to the Sox vs Braves game on March 30th, but nothing else....and all I can think of is " WHAT IF JAKE GETS TO MEET THE PLAYERS".....OMG...

Ok I know I am jumping ahead of myself and I am just so excitied that Jake is able to go to his second Red Sox game at his favorite place in the whole world.... It truly is amazing when you come across people that think of others...after all, look at this board....amazing..

Oh WOW! What a blast you guys will have! My DH is a huge Red Sox fan too!

I just found your thread and subb'd. Since Jake is reading the Disney book - have him plan the trip!

Today was a great day at our house....Jake and Hannah received a package...and both were soo happy...

( please do not mind Hannah's bangs...we are trying to grow them out... )

Jake was very proud of the Skull and Crossbones necklace..and the Mickey Mouse patch is ironed on his backpack that he wears all day with his TPN in it.

Again...you are just soo wonderful, and I feel like my Thank you with the pictures are not enough...please know that we are so greatful for the time that the Big Givers have put into making Jake's MAW trip that much more special....

I know I say this everytime you update, but I can't help it! I just love the smiles on your kids. I do belive Jake must have alot of people wrapped around his little finger! I can't wait to see the pics at the Spring training game, while at WDW. What smiles that will bring!

I forgot to share with you all how awesome our friends are.... They are throwing Jake a send off party the Sunday before we leave... Jake is so excitied...and of course this just means to world to us cause it shows how special our friends are. They have been wonderful to our family during alot of Jake's hospital stays, with helping with Hannah and such, so this just adds to how amazing they really are.

Of course I will post some pictures as well...

I just checked in on your pre trip report, and I guess I missed alot.
I LOVE the disney on ice pictures and how happy Jacob looked in all of those pictures.
Your big give gifts are amazing!!!!

Jake got his letter from GKTW today welcoming him... of course he was on the floor in tears due to excitement....Ok it seems so real now...I am sure once we see our wish granters again, it will really hit us....

I have not had anything planned for when we get back, I am just stressed cause it seems like everyone that comes home from their wish trip, someone is sick with stomach problems and I just pray Jake does not...so right now that is all I can think about when I think about coming home...

Yeah...I definitely see your point!

Think it is the stress? Or excitement? Or the food? (won't be an issue for Jake ) Or maybe the plane? Lauren said the other day that she will wear a mask the next time she flies.

I am glad to read your son did not get sick when he got home... I know I am more paranoid than I need to be, but I can't help it.

I am sure we will make our walmart trip shortly after getting settled in that afternoon. We were told our oriernation will be about 7:45.

But I keep telling everyone that we will be getting up about 6:30 every morning to get breakfeast and be out the door and at the parks by 9am...my husband had the look on his face like... ....
