MARCH 30, 2007 - 29 DAYS TO GO!: So Ruth doesnt have her shirt yet. I guess she tried another
Disney store the weekend after the rest of us bought ours and they didnt have the color she wanted in the size she wanted. Shes going to try another Disney store this weekend.
I work within driving distance of 3 malls, only 2 of which have Disney stores. So at lunch today, I decided to try one of them and chose the furthest mall because they also have a Journeys shoe store and Im trying to find the new Cleo
Crocs. I want to try them on before I buy them to make sure of the size. And Ive already gone to Dicks Sporting Goods and REI camping store.
No luck at the Disney Store (they have the shirts, but none in the size she wants at all!) and I bomb out at Journeys, too. Im leaving the mall when I pass a Von Maur. For the record, 95% of my clothes come from Wal-Mart and Sears. The other 5% are from a store called The Avenue. Its a fat ladies store. I believe the FULL name of the store is Your Butt is as Big as the Avenue, but that doesnt fit on their sign.
Anyway, I head into Van Maur (Im already going to be late coming back from lunch, so who cares?).
Well, guess what I own now???????????
Now, heres the funny part you should know by now
all about my left foot. I do believe the surgery was a success and I will recover completely
eventually. But for now, most of the outside portion of my foot is numb most of the time. I can barely move the last 3 toes. A few weeks ago, I was standing in my room blow drying my hair (old habit from when Steph lived at home and hogged the bathroom in the mornings
I learned pretty quick NOT to poke the bear and hung the extra hair dryer in my room!)
All of a sudden, my numb foot hurt REALLY, REALLY BAD!!! I look down and Im standing on a size K crochet hook. (Thats a fairly big hook, men) It took about 3 minutes for the fact that I was standing on a piece of metal, the size of my pinky, to register from my numb foot to my brain!
So today, Im wearing the new shoes in the office, when suddenly my numb foots 4th toe starts hurting REALLY, REALLY BAD!!! I look down and the pinky toenail is gouging the toe next to it for all its worth! Took about 10 minutes for me to notice. THIS is a bad sign and will be addressed with the foot doctor next week. And maybe a pedicure is in order...
OOOHHH!!!!!!! ALSO next week: Remember I mentioned the Chinese restaurant downtown (Silk Road) that I loved, loved, loved when I worked downtown???
Well, I have to go to jury duty at the Daley Center Monday. I called the Chinese place and asked their hours (Im so ashamed of myself sometimes, but yet I still keep blabbing the stupid stuff I do to the world!).
They are open until 7! Sweet! Pepper steak (at least 2 orders!) here I come! I figure Im owed it for doing my civic duty!
No wonder I walked crooked!
