9th July
Managed to get up bright an breezy this morning and it certainly puts a spring in your step when you dont even need to look outside to know it is hot and sunny!! We were off for our first day at Magic Kingdom and although this was our 13th trip this was our first in high season so wasnt sure what to expect crowd wise.
We were all loaded into the van in good time and off we went. We had a AAA diamond parking pass so parked in the front of the parking lot and walked to the Monorail , got on the monorail which wasn,t as packed as I thought but as we arrived at the gates the crowds were huge all waiting to get in. The kids were given their Mickey pixie dust and the countdown began and I have to admit the eyes started to leak a little thank goodness for sunglasses!
Then before you know it we were storming up Main Street unsure of what to do first. We decided to head for tomorrowland where we started with Monsters Inc Laugh floor as we had never seen it before good fun and the kids love Monsters Inc and found it even funnier when their Granny appeared on screen (she didnt find it so funny) . We came out of there and onto Buzz Lightyear and then the Rockets !
Then we were surprised the Indy Speedway only had a 15 minute wait so DH and John took the kids on this ride and my mum and I grabbed a seat and watched the world go by.
They came off the cars and DS was desperate to go on POTC so just decided to go with that DS was a bit disappointed as it didnt have as many spashes as the DLP ride but I loved the Jack Sparrow detail.
By this time we were a bit peckish so DH popped to Spalsh Mountain to get fastpasses and we stopped off at Peco Bills for a drink and a cookie which hit the spot! Then we went off to Haunted Mansion which had a 10 minute queue and then back to Splash Mountain for our first ride ( at this point Molly would ride and Lewis was a no way) arrived there only for DH to notice he had got BTM passes instead! The kids were melting at this point as that corner of the park is always packed and very hot so I let DH and John ride BTM and I took the kids for an ice cream and mum bought them the water sprays ( although I am sure they were for her really)
Next the kids decided on Small World while we were waiting for our Splash Mountain time so off we went and by the time we rode that the pack was maxing out so we went back to Splash Mountain. Molly decided to ride and Lewis stayed with my mum all the way down the line Molly was shaking , I gave here every opportunity to leave the line but she wanted to ride. She loved the inside story and asked if she would ride again she replied nah not bothered really. It was now 2.30pm and we had decided that as we had the whole holiday in front of us we would head home for a swim.
By about 4.30pm everyone was famished to decided to head to Johnny Rockets at the Mall at the Millenia and maybe then I could fit in some shopping!!!
We all had some kind of burger and fries and DH and DS had a milkshake and then we went onto the shops. DH has to go to the Apple Store ( he drove he gets to go!!) the kids duly followed and I left them to it. Found a pair of Marc Jacob shoes on sale but they didnt fit so Cinderella didnt get to the ball. Went to Lacoste and the kids got some tops, bought some candles from Yankee Candles and had a quick look in Tiffanys but knew we would be back so broke myself in gently.
By this time is was 9pm so we headed home the kids to bed and us settled with a drink and some nibbles then off to bed very tired
