Accuweather is suggesting highs in 90s and lows of 70 - so I'd pack more swimsuits and no jackets. We will be there the 7th-13th and I'm packing sundresses, sandals, bikinis and a ton of sunscreen:) Should be great weather!

No! We have frequently gone in May and haven't needed pants, jackets, or sweatshirts. It usually is quite hot. Even the evenings are nice and warm.

I probably wouldn't waste the space for jackets. I've never had to use on in that time frame. Even late at night in the upper 60s is still warm (the humidity helps it to feel warmer than the actually tempature is too) So I wouldn't worry about it! If anything, pack something for rain in case a stray thunderstorm pops up :)

Maybe a sweater if you need one for the AC inside buildings. But outside? It's sum-sum-Summertime!

We will also be there in May, for the 3rd time. The first two times I brought jeans and a jacket but it was a waste of space so not packing them this time.

The only pants I'd "pack" would be the ones I was wearing on the plane. That way, you'd have a pair if you absolutely needed them. But I highly doubt you would.

We have been in May twice. As Phil Collins would say...

No Jacket Required!!!

Did I just show my age? :rotfl2:

We are going May 2 - 8 and while I'm not packing a jacket, I will pack light sweatshirts for early morning / evening or inside AC.

In the summer I always bring a lightweight rain jacket that I can also use if I am cold in an air-conditioned building. I find some of the inside areas frigid, so I can't imagine not having that jacket with me at all times!! My husband and I go "bagless" in the parks, so I just tie the rain jacket around my waist and I'm good for the day!

Recommendation about sunscreen
1) don't use the spray on kind for your child's face (we are AP holder and see parents tell kids close your eyes and spray. Either kids open during spray or it still seeps in when they open their eyes. You'll have screaming kids that you are trying to get to bathroom to wash their eyes out.
2) put initial sunscreen on before clothes. In case a shirt sleeve or shorts ride up you're still protected. Especially pay attention to ears and the back of the neck. We live here but my 2 Granddaughters are fair. Emma's 1 and we even include her head, hair just starting to come in.
3) don't forget to bring the sunscreen to the park so you can reapply. If you forget it and you see someone applying it don't be afraid to ask. We've had people ask for their kids because they left it in the room, we never say no. Getting sunburned can ruin a trip. I can't tell you how many times I've been burnt and I live in Florida, raised in Ft Lauderdale. Especially pay attention at the pool the sun kicking off the water will increase chance of getting burned.
Good luck!

Me, too. If you're dressed for the outside temps (shorts, sleeveless shirt) it can be seem super-cold in the AC.

I agree! Last May it rained day and night for almost the entire week we were there. I was very glad I brought a lightweight sweatshirt for my kids at night because they would get wet and then freeze when we'd go anywhere inside. It was definitely a necessity!

We live in SW Florida and I can tell you I always have a light sweater or a wrap in the car for everywhere we go. The A/C is often turned very low. Outside though you will have plenty of sun and warmth. We are heading up early in May and we will pack a sweater, sandals, shorts and tennis shoes. NO heavy stuff.

We are going mid May. My concern is more about the percipitation. How much rain does Florida normally get during mid May? Please don't tell me we picked the rainy season.

Okay, I won't tell you. ; )

Actually, it's not to bad in May. It gets much rainier from June through August. Just an occasional thundershower in our experience, but the pass through quickly.

I usually bring 2 pair of capri's and the rest shorts in early May.

By Memorial Weekend, I don't bring capri's.

I always bring a light jacket of some sort just in case. The one year I didn't, I needed it. That's how I ended up with an expensive AK hoodie that I wear alot at home.

I've been going to WDW every year for my bday 5/6 since 2006 and I can only remember 1 night when I need pants and a long sleeve top in the past 8 years.

It can be very HOT. I often find the heat of early May more difficult to tolerate then Aug heat coming from MA. I'm sure this year with the lack of much spring weather will make this year a tough one but I can't wait to go!

If you get cold in rides, shows, and restaurants easily, then perhaps a sweater but I doubt a jacket will be needed
