Hello!! We're leaving in  9 DAYS  and I was wondering about needing jackets (April 29th-May 10). I've never been to Florida during this time of year. The last two times we went was the end of October a few years back and I don't even remember if I took jackets then. This will be our DS4 first trip and I don't want him to get cold in the evenings. Can someone let me know please? Thanks!!

I'M SO EXCITED!!! :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

I can't tell you about Apr./May sorry,(we're going in May this year),but last year we went in March and it was warm enough then to go without a jacket.
There were a couple of nights we wore light sweaters. Next month we're going to take 1 sweatshirt each but the jackets are staying at home.

Hi there- we too are going be there at that time. Leaving in 6 days. It will be hot. Last year we went at the beginning of April and I (who is usually cold) never needed a jacket. It was low to mid 80"s every day. You might want to bring one light sweater but more than likely it is going to be warm. Have a great trip.

Check out the 10 day forecast at weather dot com or something- that will give you an idea. We went end of April last year and didn't need jackets.

We went like May 8th - May 15th or something like that last year. We took jackets just to be sure and they never came out of the suitcases.

We were there for Mother's Day 2 years ago (around May 9th) and it was sooooo HOT! I think at least 85-90 degrees. May want a light jacket maybe if you get suburned to wear in a restaurant in the evening?? I had a jacket for my daughter in case it was chilly at night and we never used it. I'm sure the weather will be beautiful!! ENJOY!

Also, there have been near-record highs the past week or two, and it is supposed to continue at least into next week. Doubt you'll need jackets, especially this year. Have fun!

Let me tell ya people, I live here in Central FLA and it is HOT already. We are in the 80's and we've not had any rain in say, 50 days or so. Please don't clog up your bags with jackets. A light long sleeve will do.

PS
Have a great time at the WORLD!!

I don't see how a light weight jacket like a windbreaker could hurt. I'd say bring something like that just in case the evenings get cool. We will be there at the same time as you and are bringing windbreakers for our kids, and me too! I'm always cold. Also don't forget air conditioning. Sometimes I'm greatful for a jacket at some restaurants.

I'd vote for a light windbreaker - or pack at least 1 sweatshirt - one year we were there end of April, flew back like May 3 rd I think - the weather was great in Florida - but the day we flew back there were snow flurries at O'Hare!

Yeah I would say to pack something light incase you go to a restuarant that happens to be cold. I live 20 minutes from Disney and it is HOT here. Today the temp was 90 degrees but it with the humidity it felt like 95 degrees. Yeah like somebody said, it hasn't rained in SOOOOOOO long so you guys are lucky in a way. :)

Thank you everyone for all of your advice! I think I will at least take a light jacket for my little man just in case!

WOOOHOOO!!! 8 DAYS!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just so you know, the weather pattern of evenings getting cool after hot days doesn't really happen in central Florida. The humidity being what it is, a hot day will devolve into a warm night. The only time it's a factor is in winter when it is breezy, and will be cool any time you are not in direct sun.

That said, windbreakers do sometimes come in handy in April/May in the early morning, shortly after sunrise. You won't need them after 9 am. unless it is a rainy day, and you go into an a/c area wearing wet clothing.

We went the last week in April last year and we're very lucky we brought some light weight jackets. It was unseasonable cold. The first couple of days it was in the 50's in the morning and evening. Brrrr. It got warmer but not what I was expecting. We are going in May this year and I hope I will be able to get into the pool.

Last year we went the third week in May. It was really HOT. I did not bring jackets and all I can remember is my 3 year old complaining that she was cold in every restaraunt we were in. So this year I will bring a light sweater for her and just bring it to the table service meals we do. Other than that, I am not bringing any jackets at all!

Last year over Memorial Day, I brought a light sweater for me and 2 DD's. theirs never saw the light of day, I used mine in almost every restaurant.

I'm here now, been here for two days, and so far our jackets are hanging - untouched - in the closet.....and hope it remains that way. :sunny:
