Jack Sparrow Article - Working at Disney

Thank you so much for posting that article! :)

It was such an interesting read, and it gives us a little insight (sp?) on what it is like to be a Disney character.

For all of us that have a dream to work at Disney someday, I stumbled across this neat article online (this may be a repost, but I have not seen it here before).

That article is really sad... :sad2: But as a former Cast Member myself, I can say, it does take a very special kind of person to be willing to put up with what Disney puts you through! I only survived my time there because I was on the College Program and I knew I was only there for 8 months and then I got to go back to my normal life. I still absolutely LOVE Disney, but I definately have a newfound respect for ALL CMs... Yes, this article is about a face character, but dont think it stops there... it's EVERYONE in EVERY role that has issues like that... So my reccommendation? Continue to go vacation at Disney, but leave it at that... working there ruins the magic of a lot of things! I'm so excited that I'm going to have the magic "replaced" in me this year because we're taking our daughter for the first time and I will be able to see everything through her eyes....

I've read that before. And people wonder why they took Jack out of the parks. lol I never acted that way towards Jack, in fact the Jack's we ran into on Pirate Island were always AMAZING and great with the kids. He was one of our favorite characters and we were sad to see him go. I'd love for him to return but don't see it happening. On another note, the guy that did that article is gorgeous....holy cow!!!!!

That dude used to play Deputy Sachs on the best-tv-show-ever-in-history-evah! Veroncia Mars. I squeed when I saw him. I had no idea he was that good looking IRL, the VM character is kind of geek ugly. Wow. Rawr!

I think the rules for characters not beign seen together, etc., are a little rigid, but I definately appreciate the experience they provide for me as a guest.

Thanks for posting that. That was a very interesting read.
