AAARGH!!! I'm going in OCTOBER. We finally get a free dining announcement and it's only good for a month?!?!?!? And that month is September. Which the first free dining promo covered already.

And to make matters worse, I had to find out about it here because Disney Visa absolutely refuses to email me EVER.

Grrr. Thanks, I feel better. Sort of.

I feel your pain. I plan to go mid October also.

So again, I wait.:hourglass and :worship:

sorry to hear that. Maybe in the summer something will appear.
Looks like Disney is holding to their promise of fizzling out discounts.
Sucks, but the discounts cant last forever I guess.

Well,as I have said before(waaaay before this FD announcement); The deals will come if bookings are down-period;Disney will do whatever it takes to get people on their property, whether they"said" discounts will be less or not-numbers are numbers, and a lot of us will be looking for some sort of discount to make the trip a bit more feasable. Can you say$4.50/gallon?I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that there will be FD in late fall, probably mid Oct-Nov. ;)

I am really glad I was not waiting on FD for my trip, as it was FD would have only saved use $29.88 total over the 20% discount we currently have, now the new requirement of the photo pass book which will cut into the FD savings even more ($100+) for us FD will be no savings at all.

I'm disappointed too. :(

We want to come at the end of September, but there is no way we can come as early as 9/24.

I work in the county school system and most districts are off (including the one I work at) for the Jewish holiday on 9/29 and 9/30. Problem is that the district we live in is one of the few that does have school both days. I was going to pull DS out of school and make it a long weekend; I don't think he should miss an entire week though.

I wonder if the holidays are the reason the offer ends on 9/24. Maybe bookings are up due to people being off work on 9/29 and 9/30, so no need to offer free dining then?

The dates are a bummer!

I also believe that the original dates that were released last year for the Aug/Sept time frame included those dates--so maybe they got enough bookings in the original offer for the first part and last part of free dining and that is why the new offer is for a shorter time frame.

I was orginally going in late September first booked on the FD offer that ended on 12/20/10 from 9/29 to 10/6 and then when the GP % off room discounts came out was changed to 9/25 to 10/1 so the dates of 9/29 and 9/30 were both previously included in promos.
There were quite a few DiSers going that last week of September too due to the previous offers so no doubt no need for additional offers for that time frame.

I moved to October so we shall see what comes out for then.

JerseyJanice-Maybe an offer will come out for Columbus Day weekend that you can take advantage of .

I'm thinking that way too.

DS is off on Columbus Day. I'm not, but I've got time to spare. :) DS won't have school that Monday anyway, so we can start/end before/after that weekend to keep his absences down.

Whatever. We'll either find a decent deal or we'll skip WDW in 2011. :)

Of course FD ends the week before the Jewish holiday as most schools are off. Same goes for Columbus day and the first week in November (NJ week) though this year is late...

Remember. Is all marketing. They want to fill properties when people are less likely to come...
