i'm actually planning a trip for August 2013. Almost a full year in advance.

even plane reservations!!!!!

I've become one of you!!   (do you hear the music from Psycho playing in the background???)

Excuse me?

tongue in cheek!!

i usually make reservations a few months in advance at best (i just bought plane tickets two weeks ago for my flight in 3 weeks)..

but i just booked a cruise and plane tickets for a trip next year at the end of august...

so now i feel like the gang here - everyone planning one and two years ahead of time! :)

i travel even further than you - i live in Israel.

the truth is, i used to plan further out, when the kids were younger and i knew everyone's schedule, but it's much harder now!!

so for many years now, it's been much more spontaneous...

but my nephew in detroit is getting married next september - so wanted to lock in the flights now....and since we have to be in the US in september, that of course means we HAVE to visit the mouse...right?

How long does it take you to fly that distance....I moan about the 9 hours.....*hugs*

And yes, you need to go see MM

non-stop Tel Aviv-NYC is 13 hours flying west and about 11 hours flying east (that tail wind certainly helps!!)...

and then about a 3 to 4 hour layover in NYC (depending on the connection) and then NYC to orlando.

We've done it other ways in the past, but they all work out about the same in terms of hours (sometimes TA-newark then down to MCO, sometimes TA-Toronto, then down to MCO, sometimes TA-Atlanta, then down)..

for the past many years, we've been flying business, but the prices have gotten so bad, i booked us into economy for next year (and i'm flying economy in october)

i just can't justify the stratospheric price of business...
and with the money i'm saving, we booked a nice room on the Oasis of the Seas, and i still have thousands left over to spend on something else!! :thumbsup2

we just discussed it and we've decided no mouse, just a 7 night cruise and just the two of us....

that's a major major first...

the very first time ever we're going on a solo vacation sans kids...
but the kids are all grown up and married and while i know they'll want to go with us (as they did last august), we've decided it will be just us..

oh....and i just realized....it will be our 35th wedding anniversary!!
how perfect is that???

the two of us on the Oasis together!!! i can't wait...
so how many days till we leave???????????????
