I've sunk to an all new low today

I have been out of work for 6 months and can't find a job, either I'm over qualified or not enough education, not the right positions held in the past. WHATEVER! Well today I put in an application at our local little store that sells everything kind of like an old 5 & 10. Guess what, they won't hire me either. They're afraid I'll leave them.

I'm about to give up. But I can't.

HUGS to you! I'm sure you're very disappointed.

Have you thought about going to a "Temp" agency? A lot of places are hiring now for the summer. Maybe a temp place would work out because the employer wouldn't be so concerned if you "left" in a few months.

MY next door neighbor has been out of work for quite a while. He was one of the Arthur Anderson people that got layed off.. anyway, he just started at Home Depot...

Remember to keep the faith.. the right job will come along.. but have you thought about going back to school? Or a temp work? or contract jobs?

I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time! I had a similar situation at one time and it was so discouraging.

I am so sorry.....yesterday I saw the manager of a DS (one tht closed last year) working as a cashier at a local market. That made me sad!

I know what you're going thru..I had lost my job back in 1981..had the same experience as you for 2 years.
{over qualified or not enough education, not the right positions held in the past.}
when I least expected it a job fell at my feet...yesterday marked the start of my 22nd year at this job...
