I've resigned!!!

Good luck in finding a new job Cath :)

I have to say you being very noble by not taking it further. Like others have said it looks to me like you have a very good Constructive Dismissal case.

I know it would be a lot of hassle and nobody could blame you for not wanting to go down that route, but if the CAB advisors think you have a good case it could be worth pursuing - very satisfying personally plus it would stop them treating other people so badly in future. Anyway, whatever you decide to do - good luck!!! :)

They agreed to allow me to work Monday to Friday, working just over 30 hours per week. Then I was told a couple of weeks ago that a new 'Deputy Manager' was to start, and I would be demoted. :guilty: I wasn't told this when they allowed me to change my hours. I'm not sure if this is even legal!!!!

If your hourly rate is still the same I think you would have little chance of winning a case against them. They would say that "Deputy Manager" is an important responsible position in which they need a 38 hour week from that person and you indicated that you were not prepared to work those hours. Henceforth they have employed a person to do those hours, changing your job title but keeping you on the same pay level (probably knowing that you would resign your position). If they have reduced your hourly rate then I think you have a case to pursue.

Good luck in finding a new job.

I think they treated you badly/handled the situation badly--whatever.

Good luck with looking for a new job :flower:

Has the Nursing/Care home attitude written all over it. They are all owned by ahem, i wont go down that route but they manage to let my Nan almost kill herself and then the hospital let the MRSA finish her off 5 years ago.

I hope you get a much better job

Thanks for all your support guys!!!
I've had lots of encouragement to take it further, so I think I may be making a call to ACAS on Monday morning. My DSIL (who also works for the company as Accounts Administrator) has told me the slightest hint of a tribunal will send them into a panic and try and pay me off!!!
I'll keep you posted!! :flower:

In that case screw them for every penny you can get (as long as the residents don't lose out!!) :teeth:
