We leave on Saturday I'm very excited and nervous about the weather but all will be fine. What is not to be missed at the Widerness Lodge as far as the lodge itself? As far as rooms go we just requested a smoking room so I think we will be somewhere on the sixth floor courtyard view which is the view we booked.

We never miss having a meal at Whispering Canyon Cafe, taking a boat ride to Magic Kingdom and, if you can rent the water Mice - they are really fun to use. Its a great perspective of MK, and the surrounding resorts. We also like to get a cup of tea/coffee and sit in front of the fireplace in the rocking chairs.

See if you can take a tour of the place or try to be a flag family.

Have a great time!

Take an early morning walk down the nature trail to FW, it's paved and in the early mornings you can sometimes see deer. You will end up at the petting zoo. Also in the mornings (other times during the day too) you will see the ducks and babies enjoying the pool! We also like to take the boat over to the CR and eat at Chef Mickeys. The tour of the lodge is neat too, and don't forget to rub Humphreys nose!

I to would be interested in what to not miss. I am booked there in Sept with a courtyard view. What does this mean exactly? Is it worth it to upgrade to conceirge? Do they do that at teh front desk or do I have to call first?

thanks

Oh aldo I need a fridge for medication can I request one and whats the charge?

The Electric Water Parade can be seen on Bay Lake at about 9:35 each evening(weather permitting). The geyser goes off on the hour, until I believe 10 pm.

Look for the sitting areas on the 4th and 5th floors above the main entrance. They have chairs and couches in front of fireplaces. This overlooks the lobby and is relaxing.

On the 4th. floor. again, above the main entrance, there is a large public balcony and smoking is allowed. There are other large public balconies off the lobby, 4th and 5th floors which overlook the courtyard. Look for the animal tracks on some of the walks. Some times they have crickett sounds on the speakers during the walk from the bus station to the lodge.

If your 6th. floor courtyard room is facing toward the MK, you will be able to see some of the high fireworks over the roof of the WL.

You may look into buying the refillable mugs at The Roaring Fork.

When making my reservation, I inquired about a fridge for medication purposes. The CM I spoke with said that I had to have a letter from my MD (on paper with a letterhead of the healthcare facility name, etc) stating that the medication had to be kept in the fridge. Also, she said that they couldn't guarantee that we would be able to have a fridge, even for medication! She did say that provided I met these requirements, there wouldn't be a fee--subject to change, of course! I would call and reserve one now instead of asking at check in.

I called last week to see about upgrading to concierge and I think the CM I spoke with slipped when she said those rooms are always the last to go! Also, since we are less than 45 days out, a $50 handeling fee would be added. So, that made it an extra $57 dollars per night. Is it worth it? I don't know! I'd love to find out though...I decided that if they offer at check-in, we'll do it. Just for having the convenience of having food and drinks available all day, especially the wine and dessert in the evenings!:p

One thing that we try not to miss is the campfire program at FW. It is really fun, and the best part is that it is free!
