I've never bashed a WDW restaurant, but...

I went back to allearsnet's review pages for dinner at CMs and saw some similar complaints about the food; but at least there are a good number of positive reviews as well to balance things a bit. Right now I'm going to just keep the reservation and plan to go there at least once since it is so tough to get these reservations. I'm going to forewarn DH that the reviews are terribly mixed with many negatives about the food so we should go in with low expectations. [Sigh] It is too bad that I'm not more excited about this meal, but the whole reason I booked this meal was because DS1 wanted to have dinner with Mickey.

It is too bad that none of us like Stitch, so that rules out dinner with Mickey at O'hana's.

We have 8:10 ADR's for breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our first full day in the parks. I have been on the fence with this ressie ever since I made them back in May. I have heard such bad things about this buffet breakfast I'm wondering if spending $130 just for the experience is worth it. A character breakfast doesnt really matter, I just wanted to have a fun first day ya know? Maybe I will try Boma or Ohana's!

We've eaten both dinner and breakfast at CM's numerous times over the years. While the food isn't fantastic, it's not horrible either, or at least it wasn't as of our last visit in 2007. I hope it hasn't gone downhill since then.

Another Vote against Chef Mickeys....and even the interaction Sucked....Really it did, dont know if they were on an off day or we just happen to get the last ADR for Breakfast, but It was the only one they had for my B-day for such a large party, The food was not worth the money and when One of the characters walked away from my child when she was trying to get a hug broke my heart oh and Our Birthday day cake was forgotten and when they finally delivered to us( I was celebrating my 35th b-day and my godaughter was celebrating her second) It was frozen in the middle, After I complained they still refused to take it off our check, I wasnt to happy with them.

We have had WAY better Buffet breafast in other Resorts, Like 1900 Park Fare and Boma's are my Favorites, and the Crystal Palace, Is great too.....I wish Disney would listen or read these complaints becasue I was not the only party that day that was complaining, Chef Mickeys being so popular needs some revamping...........

We've never done CM and probably won't. We are doing 'Ohana for breakfast again this year-we enjoyed it last year. :thumbsup2 We are also trying Tuskers but it'll be for dinner. Have an ADR for early dinner at Park Fare but are rethinking it. Some lousy reviews lately.

We've eaten at CM for breakfast and dinner and find it's not very good either: subpar food, dirty, noisy, unorganized, very long waits even with ADRs and rushed character interactions.

We have eaten at every buffet on property multiple times and like 1900 Park Fare, Donald Tusker House (so much better than old one) and Cape May Cafe best for breakfast.

Happy eating, Tiger

Better yet, considering a lot of the issue is on food quality, maybe Chef Mickey's could be chosen for an episode of Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares! :thumbsup2

(Okay, so the restuarant isn't at risk for closing - but I can only imagine his reactions to the food)

I just pictured what that would be like. Gordon Ramsey screaming at the Characters that they were lazy and worthless.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We had a great time at CM but the food was pretty lousy. It was fun though.

Our usual buffet is Crystal Palace.

We have dinner at CM on every trip, so we've probably been 8 or more times since the time when CM was located at the Disney Village Marketplace. We haven't had a really bad experience, but I think food quality has significantly declined in the last 2 or 3 years or so. On our last trip a month ago, both DW and I thought the prime rib was inedible. When the kids get tired of going for the fun, we will not be back unless food quality improves.

Garden Grill in Epcot, right? Isn't that character meal being discontinued?

Yes, Garden Grill is being discontinued.

When is this being discontinued? I have ADRs there for a late lunch on September 21!

I haven't done CM's yet and from what I'm hearing, I'm kind of glad. We have done Garden Grill and Crystal Palace and were very happy with both of them. We are trying Park Faire for dinner this time and I'm hoping that it's just as good as the ones we've already done.

And actually, I originally had ADR's for Hollywood & Vine for breakfast but after reading a few negative things here about that one, I was able to switch it and get Crystal Palace for our last morning at MK.

We LOVE Chef Mickey's for breakfast - it's one of our favorites. We enjoyed the food & had outstanding character interaction in a fun atmosphere. We can't wait to go back this year!

I just remembered that this year during Hell's Kitchen he was saying, "you stupid *u**ing donkey" to some of the chefs. It's almost a shame that Eeyore ISN'T one of the characters at CM!
