Caught a cold, lost my voice! Whoo hoo! Now I can't teach! So today the kids get to watch a movie and I get to catch up on my grading. It feels like a snow day!

My DH would be throwing a party if I lost my voice!!! There would be  and :cheer2: . A band would be playing :rockband: and someone would probalby let :dancer: in too, so he could participate in :thewave:

DD lost her voice last week for a couple days, it was like heaven! Ok, no flames, DD talks NONSTOP at home with a constant barrage of questions. It wears a person out!

OK, Sonya, move over as I step into your boat.

The only difference is that I stayed home from work today. My phone would ring and people would contantly be looking for me to help them with their various computer concerns. It was easier for me to stay home and not talk than to cough all day from trying to whisper to people at work.

I hope we both feel better very soon. I spent the morning whistling and snapping my fingers to get my kids' attention.

Sorry for laughing, but I do this, too, plus use sign language more so than ever.

I have a cold and I'm trying to guzzle liquids and not overuse my voice. If I don't I know I will lose my voice for sure.

Get well to all! :wizard:

So far so good. I write on the board what is going on and the kids sit and watch the movie or work on other homework. They are happy. I am happy. I've already caught up on a lot. However we shall see this afternoon. The last 2 hours are pretty talkitive!
I feel good, the cold is almost over and I took zinc so it's not all that bad. This just sometimes happens to me, I"m used to it.
The kids try to get me to talk so they can hear me whisper.

I teach too. It happens to me every year when I get a bad cold. I lose my voice for days at a time and always have to take 1-2 days off because it gets so bad. I thought it was happening last week so I brought a half-gallon of orange juice to school with me to drink throughout the day.

Believe it, or not, today, is the first day I've had my voice back since last Wednesday night. My kids were actually cheering this morning because they could hear me again.

I hope no one else's was as bad as mine was.

I dislocated my jaw and the doctor said I had to speak as less as possible for the next few days.

Even though I wasn't facing DH, I swear I could HEAR him smiling :teeth:

Lost my voice last week. I was subbing all week and I went anyway. No big deal. I was subbing for the teacher of the deaf and was going to be signing anyway so a voice was not necessary.
