I've lost my mind. Taking 20 people to HHI

I'm giving my Dad is "dream come true" ( his words ) and planning a get together at HHI for summer of 2011. I actually had to add on another contract to cover all of the points.

How many people can we realistically expect to feed in the Grand Villa? I'm thinking some of the kids will be eating on picnic tables.

Has anyone done a gathering of this size and cooked most meals? How did you handle it?

you have lots of meal ideas so i will suggest that for seating you ask the cast members to set up several additional picnic tables in the area closest to your central location during your stay...that way you will have sufficient seating and other guests will not encounter a lack of tables in other resort areas...plastic tablecloths will often delineate 'reserved' tables from generic.

WOW 20!! That should be really fun!! HHI is sooo the place to do it, more relaxing yet so many fun things to do for the group.

Last year we were in a GV and although we didn't have 20 in our group, I can see it accomadating that many. With the large dining room table, picnic table on the balcony and seating in the living area, I think 20 will be able to eat around the same time. Now everyone won't be at the same table but you'll all be close enough. Besides we even found last year with our group not everyone was ready to eat at the same time so dinner was cooked and some ate right away and others had to reheat!

Also the grilling area with picnic tables will be useful to your group.

As another poster described on previous large group vacations we have broken up dinner duty into groups. So maybe you and each of your sisters could take a night each and plan and prep that nights meal with the others assisting but at least you wouldn't have to be THE main chef for every night.

Update- I'm going to pay the extra points and book a 2 bedroom to replace 2 of the studios. Two full kitchens and two full refrigerators will make a huge difference.
