I've got the Top Ebay Dumb Buyer Story

My wife sells on ebay and recently got an order. The person paid and the very next day, my wife put the package in the mail (label printed thru paypal with tracking number). The person who bought lives in Tampa and we are in Orlando. Well for some reason, the USPS puts this package on a truck to Iowa and then routes back to Florida. The person e-mails my wife and starts giving her a hard time. My wife states that the Post Offices mis-routed the package and does not know what else to do (remember the label was created via paypal, so there was no misspelled address or such). The buyers starts calling my wife (via e-mails) a liar and states that in her dealing with ebay, that most sellers are "trailer trash, welfare recipients".

Anyway, wife decides to give full refund to the buyer (only 8 days have elapsed since the initial purchase) in order to appease this person. Buyer gets the refund and then gives a negative on my wife (still now only 9 days have passed)!!! Buyer finally gets the package (another 2 days later) and then e-mails my wife and tells her she finally got the package and was happy although not apoligizing because "all sellers are mutts". ???? The buyer even changes her user name on ebay to "most-sellers-are-mutts" :confused3

Finally, the buyer has the nerve to ask my wife to sell her some more product! As you can imagine, we have banned her from bidding on any of our stuff. What a nightmare.

I've looked up this buyer and according to their feedback, they seem kind of childish to me and should be "BANNED" from ebay. They have 12 negatives out of 22. What does that say about them? You really should read the comments. TOTALLY CHILDISH...

I personally sell on ebay and live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath log home on 2 acres of land with a pond/stream. How's that for trailer trash??? Hubby works full-time while I work part-time to save for Disney and to start Real Estate School. Ebay allows me to make some extra $$$ as well.

VERY FAR FROM TRAILER TRASH...

Okay - I looked them up and I actually got a pathetic chuckle out of their responses to feedback - LOL - they refer to nearly every "bad" experience as MUTTS -

I'm so sorry you got a negative - I absolutely dread the day I get one, but I won't take any c-r-a-p from buyers. Fortunately I have had really 99% excellent buyers and have had little problems - any little glitches are worked out to everyone's satisfaction -

Some buyers should REALLY make sure they keep their MEDS next to their computer so they are on an even keel before getting online.

:grouphug:

I HAVE BEEN SELLING SINCE 1999. I have had over a 1000 transactions with perfect feedback.

In the last year, if I have any problems, I get there phone numbers & call them direct.

For some reason, when I call, I really am able to settle just about anything.

Try that next time.

Good luck

Patricia

I'm sorry to hear about your horrible story.

I looked at "most-sellers-are mutts" feedback and I am sorry to say, but was kind of funny. I am going to make sure that I stay away from this person. I happen to live in a mobile home and have never been thought of as "trailer trash". Matter of fact my home is a lot nicer than many houses that I have seen. But, you know, we mutts just don't know anything.

I have actually added her to my BLOCKED BIDDER list, just in case! YIKES

BTW, my dogs were all mutts and I love them all. I guess I am a Mutt since I am English, German, Scottish, and a whole lot more! LOL

dear judy,

i wanna first thank you for selling my daughter the winnie the pooh ornament.... but i have a problem i let my daughter use ebay to buy one thing she wanted but she went on last night and buy 3 items and she dont have the money to pay for them... i told her before that this isnt a game that she can play around with... so i was wondering if you can do me a big favor and let my daughter go and relist your item im really sorry about all this trouble please forgive my daughter.... i dont think she really realize what was going to happen. i hope you understand what happened and do me this really big favor

please let me know how you feel??

Dear Mr. F:

I am sorry that you feel you are unable to honor your obligation. You have asked that I relist the item for sale. As you may be aware, I have already paid eBay the listing fee, gallery fee, and commission on sale. As the sale has been made, to list this again I would have to pay another listing fee, another gallery fee, and IF it sells, another commission. This is a Christmas-type item, and we basically have passed this year's Christmas season.

My husband, who is the security officer for a large federal accounting system, has told me that normally a person is held responsible for any actions taken with their User ID and Password. If another person enters the system with their User ID and password, it is either with the expectation that the owner will take full responsibility, or that the person hacked or stole the password and will be subject to criminal action. We assume that you do not want to take criminal action against your daughter, and so are willing to accept full responsibility for her actions.

At least she has only obligated you to a small ($9.99 + $5.00 shipping) amount, rather than something in the hundred dollar range. This may be a good time to give her a lesson in taking responsibility for one's actions. We assume that she receives an allowance, and/or has also been putting money away for a particular purpose. She should be aware that she has to use her own money to make the payments, and thus do without something else she wanted to spend money on.

I have noticed that you are a new user, with a positive feedback rating of six. I would hate to have to give you a negative feedback with a statement such as: "States daughter made bid. Refused to pay." as well as reporting this correspondence to eBay's Safe Harbor.

As I said before, I will not release you from this obligation. Please let me know promptly if you will be sending a check, a money order, or making payment by PayPal.

Sincerely yours, Judy

dear judy

I'll second that! Do you mind if I copy it and save it in case I run into a similar buyer. I'd like to copy Steve F's notes too............I can use it to teach my kids the importance of learning grammar and usage! :rotfl:

I've also put "mutt" in the DOG HOUSE......aka my blocked bidder list!

I have to agree with you, even though I live in a brick home most of friends live in mobile homes which are beautiful by the way. I live in Norten FL and that is what most people live in not b/c of money or social status. I have an Aunt who is quite wealthy and she lives in a double wide.

BTW I also sell on ebay and I think that I am far from "trailer trash" and a "mutt"

This buyer needs to get a grip and I just blocked them.

How can I get reservations there? I guess that would be considered "off-off-site." :teeth:

Judy,

If I ever need anything written, I am coming to you!!! Great response, I love it.

I just had to take a peek at most-sellers-are mutts's profile. What a nut case.
Thanks for the chuckle.

We are all trailer trash HUH???? I have lived in a trailer one time about 7 years ago by an Air Force Base where my DH was stationed at and it was nicer than most houses in the area. We now live in a 3 bdr. 3 bath house on 5 acres and my nearest neighbor on either side of me is about 1/2 mile away I LOVE IT!!!!. As a matter of fact my land is restricted to NO TRAILERS!!! LOL

I tell you some people love to try to put others down just to make themselves look better.

It looks like Steve F needs to go back to school and take and English class. I realize some people get in a hurry while they are typing and mis-spell things but GEEZ that is what they make spell check for.

Oh well I see some of you "trailer trash folks" in 35 days and COUNTING!!!! WOOHOO!!!

I thought you were only allowed to have a certain amount of negatives and then you would be taken off ebay? How could someone with such a horrible feedback continue to stay on ebay without them doing anything about it???? :confused3

Just wanted to add another annoying Ebay story. I sold 2 items to an international buyer. He didn't ask me ahead of time what the shipping would be. It is $20, and I don't jack up my shipping. He emails that $20 is too high, can he pay $11. He also told me to check his feedback - As if having 30 positive feedbacks entitles you to a 50% discount on shipping!

I told him sorry, the shipping is $20. I haven't heard back yet.
