I hate this!!! I'm scanning right now and it's already shown up 4 times. Please tell me this is an easy fix. I have no computer skills. Well no important ones.
Waaaaa!

I have experienced this virus and it was very easy to fix! Well if you have norton antivirus software (2006 or higher) just go to the program, do a full system scan and go to the errors and press fix! You might have to restart your computer for it to work but i think its worth it!

Do you have Norton or MaCaffee? If so either one of them should catch it and Quarantine it and then you can go in and delete it. If it doesn't then try running them in Safe Mode.

I would not reccomend mcafee bc they actually have CREATED viruses! You all should definitely trust norton antivirus though bc I have NEVER had a problem with it!

I'm using AVG. It had the Move To Vault option so I did that. Will that fix the problem?

AVG is usually pretty good but it didn't notify me about these until I did my nightly scan. I HATE VIRUSES!!!

Sorry to say it but I have never heard of avg! I was just saying it would be very easy to fix the problem if you have Norton Antivirus. Go on ebay and buy 2007; I have 2007 version and love it! Its cheap on ebay too. Just like 20.00! Thats not much (for me)!

Once AVG moves it to the vault, you can delete it. You might also want to download windows defender, its free from microsoft and will help protect you.

AVG is free antivirus software and it works as well as Norton.

Norton Anti Virus (I'm sorry to say) is just as bad as McAfee. Norton is incorporated with Symantec and has a TON of bugs in the program alone. I work for a software company and last year we had to reconfigure all of our computers due to a software upgrade Symantec did and crashed all of our computers. AVG Free is a great program. You just have to remember to do updates weekly and keep your computer scanned with any program you use.

So I have read numerous times. I just started using it when my current subscription to Norton ran out.

AVG also has a spyware remover too. I am now running it along with Spybot and
AdAware.

omg! u are so wrong! i am a dell computer expert and i nkow about all the programs! Norton antivirus does not give bugs or ANYTHING!

Ok, I'm just rolling on the floor laughing here. I am sure you are Dell computer expert, (like, omg!), but those that live in the real world know what works and what does not. I had Norton installed on my computer and it was one of the worst mistakes I could have made. Slow, buggy, and caused all kinds of grief for multiple applications I run, none of which are VMK.

Some other posters have mentioned AVG, that's a good one as it's free and is better than nothing. I've run AVG, Etrust, Mcafee and all have done an awesome job of keeping my machine clean.

Actually, for the OP, after cleaing your system up, I'd recommend you NOT use Internet Explorer and look into using Firefox. It may help protect you from getting those viruses in the first place. www.firefox.com

I'll beg to differ, I've talked with someone who works on computers for a living and he said that Norton and McAfee are the worst two programs to have. Norton has went down in my opinion after the recent incident I ran into with them.

Actually we run the McAfee corporate (enterprise?) at work and it stays pretty much out of the way. Of course, we don't really do 'questionable' things so I couldn't tell you how well it could protect you.

One of my friends that works on them says it has loop holes in it that can be used to get the virus through and I've had that program before and it didn't work well.

Ok you hear me now: I work with Dell and I know FOR SURE Norton is one of the best programs to have. You think it causes problems bc u are definitely doing something wrong with your computer.

Anything YOU THINK you know is WRONG. ANYTHING I say is right bc i am a dell extreme COMPUTER EXPERT.

Back to the actual question--I've had Norton for years and it does a pretty good job. I'm always wary of "free" programs as I believe they are holding back a little something.
In magazines that have run tests of these anti-virus programs, they virtually all miss something or other. None are perfect. I have Norton (for virus), Stopzilla (for Pop-ups), Ad-AWare(to remove anything that gets on) and Zone Alarm (primary Firewall)--and once in a great while something STILL gets through.
It's a never-ending battle..
