:rotfl2:
I hear ya. I CRINGE every time I have to touch my car door because i know that sucker is going to shock the crap outta me. :scared1:

Are you wearing Crocs by any chance? I wear my Crocs around the house and I think the things could light up a flashlight! :rotfl2:I keep shocking everyone and everything.

Me too! It's so bad the cats are staying away from us because we keep shocking every time we touch.

I am SO done with winter!!!

My Crocs make the static electricity worse too. Everyone at work stays away from me when they see me wearing my Crocs. :)

Me too!!!
No matter how much fabric softener I use, everything is full of static. And don't even get me started on my hair!

It's March, the stores are full of Easter stuff and summer patio furniture already and yet it snowed yesterday. This bites!! :rotfl2:

It never even occured to me that it could be the Crocs! I wear mine all the time! I touched my daughters face before to remove some misc. toddler gunk, and zapped her a good one. She looked at me like "what was that?" Think how weird that must be for a baby who has no concept of what static electricity is!

Hang in there everyone! Spring is around the corner!

My long hair keeps sticking to my sweater, its annoying! And yes, my cats are "shocking" too.

My crocs do the same thing! I have an office full of metal file cabinets and cringe everytime I have to touch one of them. :lmao:

I'm shock-a-phobic. I swear. I am pertrified of being shocked. I hit doors with the back of my hand very quickly to lessen the pain. I must look like the biggest loser. Oh well, I have avoided many painful episodes. :wizard:

I use to get shocked by door knobs :( I hated it! I tried to touch the knob with my elbow but I'd still get shocked, although less painful. My dad finally bought me a shock discharger *lol* It works most of the time unless I'm really charged up!

I've also found that drinking lots of water also helps :)

I'm with ya on this one. I havent been able to wear my hair down in so long. It just sticks to everything. COME ON SPRING!!!

Oh I hear ya! DH won't come near my lately because every time he goes to kiss me he gets a big SHOCK! :rotfl2: I was getting zapped constantly at the supermarket the other day every time I reached in to get a product. Very weird...

Jill

I get shocked every time I get in and out of the car. I cringe when I touch the car door, and I use my elbow as much as possible to open/close the door. :rotfl2:

Also, when folding laundry, all I hear is "snap, crackle, and pop."

Yesterday I had a part of a plastic bag stuck to my hand. I couldn't shake the darn thing off. It was on there like superglue. I finally got rid of it, and it jumped right back on the other hand!

Spring can't come soon enough.

The static is so bad. At home we have a humidifier, so that helps a bit, but I have NEVER encountered air as dry as the air in this dorm  Everything has the potential to shock it seems. And then I try to pull my blanket away from my sheets (fleece blanket, flannel sheets) and get a whole fireworks show
I love winter. But static sucks

OMG! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this. My girlfriend saw me trying to "de-electrify" myself on a store handle, and asked me what I was doing, she said she saw me doing it a lot. I told her why, and she said it looked weird  But I can't help it, and I don't care if it looks weird or not.

Bunnyfoo... what's a shock discharger??

All of my clothes just stick to me. I have used Static Guard, fabric softner, dryer sheets, etc. Oh and yes, my hair as well! I just wish it would go away!

It's this little oval shaped plastic key fob that my dad picked up for me. The packaging was all the Japanese so I don't know exactly how it discharges electricity. Basically, all you do is hold on to the discharger, touch the end to a metal surface (like a car door) and it gets rid of the static electricity so you don't get a charge. It's kind of cute because this little guy shows up on the discharger after you touch it to a metal surface. Actually it looks like he's getting shocked :rotfl:

As I was about to get out of my car tonight I knew I'd get a bad shock when I closed the door so I thought I'd be smart and pushed it with my elbow. The static pop was so loud it was heard by my DH as he was walking into the garage! Can you say OUCH??!!!

i am so glad i am not the only one having a "shocking" winter!! today i wore my hair down, it was either stuck across my forehead and face, or sticking out straight. i went to pat my dog and zapped him on his wet nose, poor thing jumped back from me, didn't want to be patted anymore. at the grocery store you go to open a fridge door and you know it will get you, lol. the only odd thing is my ds loves to be shocked?!!? (odd i know) we still have a lot of winter left here in maine, so i guess i will just keep the hair up and touch off on something b4 i go to pat the dog. ( maybe i will touch off on ds, lol)
