even though it was a job that I loved, I finally realised that I need to leave, this decision took ages and ages to come to. But now that the letter is in the post I feel a sense of relief! My back prob is still there but with physio it is helping to get back to normal..hopefully next year I'll find a job that I want (and hope you do as well Barry )

Good for you, Netty. I'm currently on a Career Break from my job of 27 years and due to return in February, but I could well be following your lead and resigning when the time comes. Keep us updated.
