I've fallen in love with WL!

I have been known to shed a few tears at the absolute beauty of the WL lobby - especially decorated for Christmas.
Make sure to go upstairs, too, overlooking the lobby. There's lots of beautiful places to sit for a while.

Now I'm really getting excited!! Our 1st WL experience coming up!! We're at the villas too! I am impressed with the pics. We have lived in San Fran, Oahu HI & travelled to Alaska & even we (and we are jaded now!) are excited!

When we went there the week before Thanksgiving they had just put up the Christmas decorations. What a beautiful sight.

Of course the resort is beautiful all year around.

Welcome to the club.....it will be hard to stay anywhere else for us, ever!

:Pinkbounc So excited!!! Going to be there for the first time not long from now.

Our favorite as well...just returned from a long weekend last week of August...from the moment you check in your greeted with a WELCOME HOME...we've stayed a several of the resorts and our favorite was the Polynesian...we're heading back down for 10 days inJune and heading back to the WL..there's nothing like it...it's MAGIC.

The pictures you see of WL do not do it justice. As soon as I walked I realized that it is more spectacular than any picture I have ever seen. You just can't capture it in pictures. We have a toddler who spent much of the time running around with us chasing him, so we didn't have a lot of time to just sit in the lobby and take things in. I look forward to doing that when he is older!

Just back from a split stay at Wilderness Lodge and the Boardwalk Villas...One of my sisters that went with me said "I just liked the Wilderness Lodge better." The other sister loves the BWV . :confused3

I loved them both so I just did an add on this past summer at BWV...My first love is The Wilderness Lodge & Villas. I always feel like I'm Home when I walk into that wonderful Lobby.

Now you guys have me sitting here with tears in my eyes. I think the Lodge is the closest thing on this earth to Heaven there is.... I wish I was there to day sooooooooo badly. We are going in December, however. It just isn't Christmas time unless I have a few days to look at that tree...........

Please do not tell too many people or we will not find rooms available when we need them.LOL....

We had our 1 1/2 yr old son with us and it was the perfect resort for him. On the way to the buses there are some cow bells hanging near the lodge that he had to ring every time we passed them.

We love ringing those cow bells! Sometimes we race to see who can ring them first!! DH and I are in our late 30's so I guess kids of all ages ring the bells!

I am from Wisconsin and will be going to Disney next year with my DH and DS, who will be 3. We are contemplating which resort to say at and at first we were all set to stay at WL. But then I got to thinking..... We are from up north, and the LAST thing I want to see when we go to sunny, tropical Florida is more WILDERNESS!!!!

Is there anyone else from up north area that has been to WL? What's it like? Is it a reminder of "Home" for you?

We are also deciding from AKL or Carribean beach resort, or Port Orleans French Quarter.

I've stayed at All Star Music and Sports, about 7 years ago.

Thanks!

We're from Michigan and I had these same concerns. However, the WL is so different from anything I experience in my day-to-day life! The huge rustic buildings, the waterfalls, the western decor -- ain't nothin' like it in Detroit, LOL!!

We loved it so much, we bought into DVC at the VWL. :)

Now, I suppose if I lived in a remote area, in a log home, I might find it too familiar, but since that's not the case, it doesn't matter.
YMMV, of course!!

Also, AKL and POFQ are both excellent choices -- two of our other favorite resorts (although that Mardi Gras decor at FQ kinda freaks me out, LOL!). You really can't go wrong with any of the resorts you're considering.

Have fun choosing!! :)

This will be our third December stay at WL. It is a great place for the Christmas Holiday.

Last we took the carriage ride from WL to FW. Loved it and hopefully they do it again this year.

BTW, our horse was Lucky and the driver was Kelly from Montana...

Just back last night from another magical stay at WL!! It was just as beautiful as ever. I felt like I needed to keep looking around the lodge and taking it all in because I knew I was gonna be missing it again before long. It's so fun to watch people come into the lobby for the first time. They get so excited and can't believe the beauty! I remember feeling the same way our first time back in 1996. They took down the big sign at the entrance yesterday (not sure why - maybe it got damaged from one of the hurricanes, but it looked fine). Hopefully it won't be down for long. The waterslide is up and running again (my kids went down it waaay too many times to count). We got our first towel animal ever on this trip!! It was just so magical!!! If anyone has any questions, I'm all ears! :earsgirl:
