I've been sprung from the hospital

Sonya, glad to hear that you are doing better. I am sure the next few weeks will fly for you. My best for you, Thor and your husband {{hugs}}

Monday morning I woke to something not being right.

Isn't it interesting how we just "know". When I was 7 months pregnant with my now 16 year, I slipped on the ice and fell. I wasn't hurt, had no contractions or anything I just didn't "feel right". I went to the hospital and they put me on a monitor for an hour and everything was fine. Just as they went to release me, contractions started. They tried all kind of meds to stop the labor, nothing worked. Got rushed to Dartmouth Hitchcock (New Englanders know this hospital). Where I was to stay for 2 months till delivery. Remember, this was 17 years ago, things were done differently. I talked my way out of there after several weeks, but had to take a pill every four hours or the contractions would start back up, I could set a clock by it! LOL Anyways, I went full term, uncomplicated delivery and weighed 7.6 lbs. Now my impatient one is singing a solo in Epcot in 19 days! :bounce:

Everything will be fine...just let everyone do everything for you and don't feel bad about them doing it. Sometimes it can be so hard to sit and watch other people do things, especially when they don't do it "our" way! LOL

My prayers and thoughts are with you and Thor and I just know in my heart everything will be just fine. Afterall, look at all the other posts of us that had complications...you are in good company! LOLfeel right :bounce:

I wish you the best for you and your little bundle. Stay on bedrest...it's the best thing for the baby. I know it will be hard but it's only a short period of time.

I missed out on all of those special times when pregnant with my DS8. I was on total bedrest the entire 1st trimester and hospitalized at 32 week until he was born at 36. It was sad and I was disappointed but I've adjusted. I have a wonderful friend who took it upon herself to decorate the nursery while I was in the hospital. I have the entire episode on video so that when I watch it, I feel a part to it. We are now taking that room apart and making it into a big-boy room for DS3 and it's sad to me because I know it was a huge offer of love done by my friend.

I also missed out on my baby shower. I would have loved to have been there, but I knew that the doctors were right. My baby had to come first. That's another event I watch fondly on video. Time has softened the disappoinment.

Keeping you and baby in my prayers.:D

Glad to hear that everything is good with the baby and that you are feeling better.

Well I am glad to hear that you are back home and that baby Thor and you are going to be just fine.

Please stay in bed. I know it is terrible to be sitting there when you feel there is so much to do but sometime us Moms must suffer for our little boys. :)

I am so glad that you are off that magnesium stuff. It does make you feel really, really bad. They had me on some because of my PIH and they kept me on it for 24 hours after I had DS. I was recovering from a C-section and on that mag and I just felt miserable for the first day of DS's life.

Don't stress too much about little Thor being early. DS was born at 36 weeks and he is now a big 21 lb. little guy. He didn't have any problems at all and never needed any kind of extra medical attention.

Please take care of yourself and make your DH, family and friends take some of the pressure off of you. Your only job is to make sure that you and baby Thor are healthy.

So glad you are home but sorry about the things you are missing.

Just remember, the most important thing of all is a healthy baby Thor. (I know you know that already, but sometines a person needs a reminder.)

Best wishes to you all.

I like your positive attitude, Sonya! And just think, its only a short time now, take that bedrest while you can! :sunny:

So glad you are home from the hospital and that Thor is doing so well. Keeping you in my prayers.......

Good Luck Sonya!! I hope that little baby Thor can be a bit more patient! He must know what wonderful parents he will have and he's ready to meet y'all! :)

You'll be in my thoughts...both you and baby Thor.

wow!

You have been through it all haven't you? YIKES!!

I'm so glad everything is ok. We were all thinking good thoughts for you and baby Thor!

Stay off your butt and take it easy! Don't worry about the other stuff, staying healthy and relaxing is what's most important.

Maybe your shower can be rescheduled until after Thor arrives?

Sonya, I'm so glad to hear that you and the baby are doing better. As hard as it may be, do your best to stick to the bedrest. Delivering now and delivering in 2 wks is the difference is being able to take litte Thor home with you when you are discharged. He is especially at risk for breathing problems because he is a boy.
Good luck and stay healthy.

WOW Sonya....take care of yourself and TRUST ME!!! LISTEN TO THE DOCTOR NO MATTER HOW BORING IT IS!!! I had the same thing happen to me (well the going into labor) at 6 weeks out and was put on bedrest. After 3 weeks I got up and went to the grocery store with my then husband. All I did was walked along with the cart - didn't pick food up, didn't carry the groceries. Two and a half days later she was born. The nursery wasn't done - I mean it wasn't even close to being done - we had wallpaper to get taken down, painting to do, crib to put together, the room to clean out because we had been storing stuff in there (we had only been in the house about a month). I was so happy to have my dad come and help us get things done. He was a real trooper and worked very hard while I laid on the couch feeling VERY guilty. Don't feel guilty - it will get done and it will be great and Thor will be such a wonder to have when he arrives!!!!!

Hang in there!

That must have been very scary, Sonya! I'm glad they were able to stop the labor and the doctors feel confident enough that Thor will be able to wait a little longer to make his debute! :) I'm glad you're home and you're both are safe. :)

Hi Sonya,

I'm so glad to hear that all is okay for now. But YOU must do exactly what the doctor says. I also was put on bedrest from the 8th week of pregnancy on for DS#1! That was horrible. I just had unexplained bleeding & cramping. That was very scary since they didn't know what it was caused from, I knew they couldn't fix it. Luckily (but mostly Thank God), I delivered at 36 weeks, a healthy 6 lb 1oz baby boy.

Now...just staying in bed doing nothing will get very old quickly but there are support groups out there now. I think your local hospital can help you find them. So do call if you feel you need that extra support.

Don't feel funny about asking for help from friends & family now ~ trust me that they will all want to help you & it will make them feel good too. I once also did that for a cousin of mine. I cooked meals for her family, I did their laundry, etc....I felt so much a part of that baby's life when he arrived because I know without my help, my cousin could not have stayed in bed! Lucky for you, you have no children to tend to yet! My cousin had 1 child already (which I also picked up from school while my cousin was on bedrest!)

Try to keep focused Sonya. I know with the impending move there are so many things you want to do but you just can't. Baby comes first! You can "ground him" when he comes out for what he put you through! I think about 50 kisses the first minute he's born should be punishment enough! Don't you?? :teeth: ;)

God Bless you & hang in there.

I'm relieved to hear you're doing better, Sonya. If I lived nearby, I'd come help you get packed. The stress must be awful right now. I wish I could help.......*HUGS*

My goodness Sonya... how scary. Lots of ~*hugs*~ and good wishes for a healthy rest of your pregnancy.

Hi Thor!

Take care! :)

Sonya, I am very glad to hear you are back home. Sending lots of {{{{{hugs}}}} and PD for you and baby Thor. Take care of yourself. Do as your Doctor tells you. :D

Wow and thanks! I can't believe how long some of you have had to be on bedrest! Actually that is the part I don't mind so much, I'm always good at doing nothing. ;) It's the side effects of the drugs I'm on and not being able to drive myself to Drs appts. Although talk to me in a few days when all my books are read and you all are sick of seeing my posts on these boards!:teeth:

A very good punishment! I can't wait Mishetta!

Dan, I did get large pearl plain kaki-gori in the hosp., it was called ice chips!

olena, you are so sweet. Thank you.

cgcw, that must have been very hard. Sounds like you have adjusted though.

snoopy, I'm glad you think I've got a positive attitude!

;)

browneyes, I think he's in a hurry to go to Disney too. He already knows all the music I'm sure. And since he's with me at school I bet he can speak better French than my level 1s!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! It is reassuring to hear from you that Thor can be born so early and be OK!

Glad you're enjoying your rest now! :D It does get old quick, though. I remember my 7 year old neice saying to me she wished she could be on bedrest for a while! LOL! I told her I'd trade her in a heartbeat...but now that Daniel is 14 months old I kind of wish I could have a few days of it back.

Take care of yourself. We moved towards the end of my pregnancy, but I didn't want to change dr.s or hospitals so for my appointments I had to lay down in the back of the car while my dh drove...almost an hour away! Ugh.

Stay healthy!

Marcia

OMG, what a story! Fainting, police, house sales! I hope you are hiring a moving company and have a place to move into!! Can you see having your closing in a hospital delivery room?
Best wishes and take it easy!:)
