Hi all! :wave2:

I have been a member here for a long time but have been quite absent for a long while. Our home resort is OKW and I love to spend my time between trips here, reading and interacting with fellow Dis'ers because, well...hello, my name is Heather and I am a Disney Vacation addict. It has been 7...yes, 7...SEVEN...years since we have been home, in any capacity. I am feeling the itch for a simple, quiet, 3-4 day getaway for DH and I sometime SOON. I really just want to BE there, with no real aggressive plan. I know you know what I am talking about. :cloud9:

Because it's just DH and I, a studio is perfect, and when it's just the 2 of us we prefer a bed and sofa set up over the 2 beds for obvious reasons. We have stayed at SSR before and enjoyed it. I have stayed at AKL and LOVE it there, but I am hoping for a resort not so far out this time because I don't want to plan every moment on this getaway so it's kinda important to be somewhere somewhat centrally located. I know there have been new additions and upgrades and I guess I am looking for ideas from you all who have been there more than I have in the past few years. YEARS! :faint:

Thanks everyone - I cant wait to get all caught up! :goodvibes

Soon means different things to different people! I looked for a studio for my DS for the night of May 2 and the only studio available was at Riveria, and I took it, and now when I check there are NONE for that night. This was earlier this week. I had holding points and was able to get a 1 bedroom for three nights at SSR for the rest of us, and SSR preferred was the ONLY one bedroom available then.

So, I really think you should go to the website and check to see when studio availability opens up!

Also, :welcome:BACK!

So true! I guess I don't have a timeline yet...my MO is to figure out what I want and then pare it down to a timeline. I know it's backwards... :confused3

What bobbi is telling you is there is very little left.
Go on the website and look for any openings, then you can narrow it down.
You can talk till you are blue in the face and "plan", but if there is not availability, you can not get what you plan.
Also, rooms go super fast, so if you see what you want, you have to grab it.

Edit--if you are only going for 3-4 days, are you even going to parks, or just a getaway for you an hubby resort stay?

Our son and DIL are at Poly now for four nights and they are loving the romantic atmosphere and proximity to the monorail. We've originally bought OKW in 1996 so we've been around a long time too. DH and I have spent couples only visits in each area and would agree that being close to what you want to do is essential. With Uber and Lyft (Minnie Van) now, you can get around much quicker so that may give you options if you can't get the resort you want...but mostly you'll be back at Disney!

Oh right, the Minnie van! That would make things a bit more accessible easily...and yes, you're right, the important thing is we will be there!
