Posting this from the iPad that Santa left for me! It was a HUGE surprise and some thing I wouldn't have purchased for myself. However I love it. I have hardly put it down!

So tell me what are some of your favorite apps?

I got one too and it's amazing!!! Here is my list of favorites.

Flipboard
Facebook
Twitter
Pandora
All Recipes
Google
FileBrowser - use it to connect to our external hard drive where we store all our recipes in PDF format
Kindle - note...you have to buy/preview books on Amazon's site in your browser, you can't do it through the Amazon app...ooh!! And check both kindle and iBooks, sometimes a title is cheaper on one vs the other
iBooks
iDo notepad

Have fun!!!

My new favorite app is called W.E.L.D.E.R.

It's a word game / puzzle and I'm warning you......it's addictive.

I also use the Kindle app just about every day.

Chances are your favorite magazine is available in an iPad edition. Usually, if you subscribe to the print version...the iPad version is free.

My new favorite app is by Disney and called "Where's My Water?" It's highly addictive and a lot of fun to play. You need to help Swampy the Alligator get the water from underground to his bathtub. Along the way there are a bunch of challenges that try to stop this from happening. I really enjoy this app and would recommend it! :thumbsup2

I'll second FlipBoard! Very handy way to keep up with the latest about various magazines/topics.

Thanks everyone. Keep them coming:banana: I am getting ready to head to the AppStore to look for some of these.

I have where's my water and we love that. My kids are very good at it. I havent added an ereader yet because I have a nook and don't really want to replace it.

I added my people magazine and love being able to see it electronically. I haven't been able to figure out if I can add my cooking mags yet. Maybe I should google it?

I love to cook and find that I always have recipes scattered all over. I added an app called "paprika" that plus recipes from lots of sites and allows you to organize and create grocery lists etc. I think I am going to love that one

I love word games so looking for some more of those. Kevin - going to look for the one you recommended.

appsgonefree is great, it sends you the top 10 free apps (the ones that usually charge money but go free as a promo) everyday.

I am addicted to Zombie Cafe, smurfs and Monster petshop

I also play where's my water excellent game.

A monster ate my homework is fun too.

Solitaire City is my favourite solitaire game.

Flipboard I love!
With Dropbox and Documents to Go I can work on my Office documents and automagically send them back and forth between my laptop and iPad.
I'm playing with lots of photo effects apps and I love iBooks.

If you like word games, check out Chicktionary! Also "Words with Friends" is a great scrabble-like app. I'm hooked on Bejeweled and Trism. ABC Player allows you to watch a lot of ABC's shows a day or 2 after they air. And if you have Time Warner Cable, they have an app that allows you to watch their channels on your iPad. 60 Minutes has an app that has access to an extensive database of their past segments.

Oh, and Awesome Note and Blitz and Camera+ and Pandora. I need an intervention to keep me out of the app store!

Loving flipboard :thumbsup2

My favorite new game is 7 little words! Free and lots of fun.
I also like bejeweled and the angry birds games (although I must say I prefer angry birds on my droid)

I also have been using Evernote for quite some time and just found skitch as a nice compliment for making hand written notes and drawings, writing on a photo or map and saving everything in Evernote. :thumbsup2

Got one for Christmas as well! Using it for the first time! My favorite app is the one from Cox Cable were you can watch tv on your iPad! Love it! Already downloaded Orlando Sentinel and WESH apps to follow Orlando news as well!

I got one from Santa too. I love this thing. I've had so much fun playing with it.

Thanks for mentioning appsgonefree. Just downloaded it and 2 more apps from their suggestions today.

I am completely addicted to W.E.L.D.E.R. Now! Great game.

I have questions about Flipboard. I downloaded it but what does it do? I have set it up yet.

Also do you guys put pics from your camera on your iPad or are you taking pictures with it?

When you first open FlipBoard, you select which feeds you want on your "flipboard". Then when you go back you can see all of them and read anything that looks interesting.

Words with Friends - lets just say I could understand Alec Baldwin's issue the other week with being kicked off his plane :lmao:

iBooks - I may never read a real book again - now I just need to work out how to turn the pages without touching the ipad and my freezing hands in winter will be a thing of the past (at least I don't have to hold it like I do with a book)

I have just got sucked into Gardens of Time, not sure long term how I will go but it looks promising.

DH is hooked on Angry Birds.

Splashtop to remote control my Macbook or our Windows laptop - the height of laziness, but when you have 3 dogs on your lap, its handy to remote control it across the room :-)

VLCstreamer - so I can stream movies from my Macbook or the Windows laptop to the iPad

Nightstand - its an alarm clock/weather app

Weather+ - great for getting forecasts, especially if travelling.

Facebook app - but I actually prefer just viewing Facebook in Safari.

Drop7 - like Tetris with numbers

Shanghai (Mahjongg)

Quell & Trainyard EX - strategy games

Then the dictionary's, currency convertors, world clocks etc etc etc

I also prefer the email client for quick reading/deleting of emails on the iPad.

I LOVE my iPad.

Since you like recipes, try the All Recipes app. I use it all the time, I did upgrade from the free version so I could save the recipes to a Recipe Box.

VLCstreamer - so I can stream movies from my Macbook or the Windows laptop to the iPad
OMG, thank you! I didn't know about this one! I am a huge fan of VLC, and this app looks wonderful. I'd much rather watch my iPad from the comfort of my couch than sit at the computer! Can't wait to try it!
