Heard on GMA this morning that Ivan may not be done with Florida yet.

A reminant of Ivan was pushed back down south by high pressure, where it deluged Vero Beach with 4 inches of rain. There is a chance that this tropical depression could head to the Gulf of Mexico and reform as a tropical storm again, and would again be named Ivan.

From ABCnews.com:

"After hitting Florida last Thursday as a hurricane, Ivan weakened and broke apart as it traveled north, drenching southern and mid-Atlantic states before returning to sea. A slice of the storm turned southward, however, growing slightly as it traveled over warmer waters before reaching the state's southeastern coast."

:(

Our local weather man mentioned something about a split last night. :( Sure hope Ivan doesn't get into the gulf again!

OH, I don't know all that much about meteorology, but I never imagined THAT was possible! when will it all end? this is CRAZY weather!

Our local meteroligist in Milwaukee said they will be watching Florida all day today, to see if the system moves into the gulf and it could be upgraded to a tropical storm (Ivan).

She also said Hurrican Jeanne, Kurt? and Lisa? are still out there and she would be surprised to see a hurrican Matt yet.

Ivan better not come this way if he knows whats' good for him. Lot's of folks are real mad at him!

My goodness, we have had enough...:( The high pressure systems are keeping these storms from going away. Last night, we had very heavy rains and I found out today about the flooding in Vero and that it was all due to Ivan. No more!

One of the meteorologists on the Weather Channel today made a special point of saying that if Ivan did reform it was expected to head west across the Gulf. He did this specifically to re-assure the people in the FL Panhandle/AL/Miss. areas. Of course that's not very re-assuring if you live in Texas:(

Its Karl that is so big right now in the Atlantic. I heard something about IVan too.....does anyone have a picture or map showing where it is?

Here's an overview map from the Weather Channel. Ivan is the purple blob next to Florida. To the right is Jeanne. The big storm smack in the center is Karl with Lisa to the lower right of Karl. The disturbance to the right of Lisa is not yet strong enough for a name but is expected to strengthen. It will be Matthew.
