Itunes Customer Support Rant

I never said I disagreed with you. In fact I didn't even weigh in on the thread because I'm not an Itunes type of gal. I was just explaining why maybe some people posted why they did. I thought I was being rather nice and polite in fact. I was not mean or disparaging or negative to you in any fashion. I was just offering a point of view that perhaps you've never noticed about your posts here.

Yes, lots of people come and vent here but not make that the majority of their posts and that's what some people have noticed and remembered about your posting style.

Ya know, I really was just trying to be nice but I guess you don't think so and not too much I can do about that. Your mind is made up and that's that.

Two things I'd like to point out:

1.The majority of my posts are NOT on the Community Forum. They're on Theme Parks/Resorts/Transportation. It just happens to be, that some of the people responding to me are always on the Community Forums.

2.Why can't people just accept people for who they are and if they have nothing nice to say about someone, say nothing at all? Should it really be necessary to expect that if you're going to post on a message board that no matter what you say, there will be some who will tear you down for it? I find that really, REALLY sad. I mean, some things I, and others, post are really personal and you're going to get differing opinions. But to start a thread about an experience I had with Itunes and have other threads brought up - I don't know. I don't get it.

Maybe what they were eluding to is that it seems a majority of your posts are problems and rants about various products, situations, etc. So it comes across as what I would call Eeyore syndrome. You know, that black cloud that hovers about him all the time and nothing good ever happens, only the doom and gloom.

Truhfully I can't recall any "fluff" threads from you, just threads in which you are upset over something or another. Those tend to be more memorable to people than those who post on a whole bunch of things, good and bad.

Of course that's just my humble opinion.

Boomy, I think phorsenuf worded her response very carefully. :thumbsup2

I know how frustrating it can be to deal with getting problems resolved, and I'm sure Apple isn't happy with whatever glitch happened this weekend, but stuff happens and I'm sure they're doing their best to resolve it asap. I would NEVER waste 30 minutes, let alone hours of my weekend, family time getting upset over not being able to download a song...:confused3

It's a song....:confused3

Did Apple lose some business with the glitch? Yes. In the grand scheme of things does it matter? Yes and no. They must be working around the clock to fix the problem and get things working again for all customers, but they also know that most people will just 'come back later' and hopefully purchase the song. If not, it's not a huge loss for them. Apple has an incredibly loyal base that isn't going to be shaken because of a temporary glitch for a small number of iTunes customers.

Believe me, I didn't spend hours trying to get it resolved. The email response time has been hours, but by no means was I sitting by my computer waiting for them to contact me.

I simply posted a thread stating how poor I thought Itunes customer service was. And as with most other threads I've started on the Community Forums, I'm sorry I did so.

Everybody's got things in their daily life that frustrate them. I just find it therapeutic to vent about it. Just because some don't doesn't make me wrong. I don't see the need to start a thread about how beautiful the sky looks today.

I hate the way this is going to sound, but I think I'll just stick with regular DIS Disney World forums from now on. There are some really nice people on here, but there are too many that make posting here an unpleasant experience.

Live long and prosper. Happy surfing. :surfweb:

I don't think anyone's tearing you down on this thread - you just shouldn't be surprised to have your old threads brought up because it's like you go through your day looking for things to complain about here on the DIS. You have a 'reputation' that you continue to build on everytime you start a thread complaining about one thing or another. It's a perception that many have here and you can't blame anyone - it just is what it is...

A friend of mine was having a similar problem. She first was unable to upgrade to the latest version on her own, so she uninstalled itunes and then reloaded it. No problem. No sense trying to get ahold of support because of the number of calls they are getting about the iphone.
