I have had itunes for years now. I just bought a bunch of itunes gift cards (the ones that were on sale at walmart 50 for 35) and added $100 to my itunes account. My ds19 just got a i phone from att and has been downloading free apps. I just entered the gift card info on itunes last saturday. I just received a bunch of emails stating that I purchased all this stuff from itunes. At first I didn't pay much attention to the first few because they were small amounts (this was before I added the $100). I started getting suspicious when one of the email receipts said Beethoven. I then asked my son who said he hadn't bought anything except two songs (rap music). Anyway they stole $103 from my itunes. Itunes said they are going to reimburse me back (one time deal). My question and I am sorry this is long winded but can those free apps for the iphone have a virus where people can hack into your accounts. I am going to open a brand new itunes account and have my son also open his own for his phone and keep a small but I am so afraid now.

Any advice will be appreciated. I am so afraid that they are going to get into my email account now because it is listed on my itunes and has the same password.

There "free" apps on iTunes that when you buy something within the game you are actually charged a dollar amount.

Also change your passwords and never use your email password for anything else.

If you and your DD share an iTunes account, she'd be the first person I'd look at.

If she's downloading apps like crazy, not all of them may be free.

It's not my son. The music that is being downloaded is hungarian church music (hymns) and beethoven music. Not the music he listens to. Kinda funny that about $90 is "church" music and last I heard god said "thou shall not steal". The invoices that I received were for big amounts, $16 and then two for around $40 and he hasn't downloaded any apps in recently. He just did this when he got the phone.

One thing I do is only put one giftcard on my account at a time. If I have others I keep them in a safe place until my account gets low. This way only a minimal amount is actually on my account if someone were to hack it. And never put your credit card onto itunes, I've heard so many horror stories about that.
