Hi I am in need of opinions on this school ds wants to join, it's a 2 year program for different computer skills, he is going for a computer programmer, and after this they help place you in a job. However the cost is high 35,000.00 ! They will let you pay it over 10 years! We are talking to the finiancial person tomorrow so i need advice fast!!!!! Any opions or experience with this school? Help! .....goof.......

Do a search, they are in some trouble with the government. I'm fuzzy on the details, but about how many students they had enrolled, when they began classes. I would be cautious. One of their main campuses is in Indianapolis.

Is there a local community college available? They are much more reasonable. I don't know where you are in Ohio, but in Indiana, Ivy Tech is our state-wide community college program and they are about $85 a credit hour.

I'm an engineer. I think that it might be more beneficial to get an Associates Degree in Computer Science from an actual community college or university in the same timeframe. I don't want to sound put-offish, but when I was doing recruiting for my company, I wouldn't look twice at someone from one of the 2-year "certificate" technical institutes. Invest in a real CS degree from a real university. It would probably cost less if the first 2 years were done at community college, and it would be infinitely more valuable.

Thank you!! My son does everything last minute just dropped this on us a few days ago because his friend joined ! Of course the school starts tuesday so time is of the essence, but i have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach at the thought of being in debt for that much money ! I am happy he is finally trying to take some steps but yikes! I really appreaciate your information and opinions! .....goof

My husband grad. from the ITT in Indianapolis back in 90. He felt he got a great education. The year he grad. he was hired by our local telephone co. and has done quite well by our family. Good luck to your son.

My husband got his AA in EET from ITT back in 98. He thought he got a great education and it has done him very well.

As far as financing, he has a loan through Sallie Mae and also used his GI BILL to pay for it.

My friends husband went there and graduated 2 years ago and still doesn't have a job and they have not helped him.

Thanks so much! We are going to talk to the finiancal, person tomorrow so we'll know more then, my son seems very excited about this school and i want to be a support to him. Again thanks for your replys they have helped!! ... goof

What sort of job does your son want to get in the future? If he wants to be a software engineer or IT person, he is better off getting a CS degree from a university. If he wants to have a more hands-on technical job, ITT is probably a good education for that. I didn't mean to put the idea of ITT down in my previous post, but I made the assumption that your son wanted to be a software engineer. It would be pretty difficult to get a good software engineering job with a CS certificate from this school, especially when there are so many out-of-work university grads in this field now.
