The refurbishment begins on July 7 and runs through to August 11, reopening to guests on August 12 2014.

From HERE.

Thanks for this information. We were planning on going to AK on the 7th. We will just switch our plans for the 6th and 7th. That is one of my favorite attractions at AK, so I don't want to miss it.

I hope they get rid of the sting. My back hurt for twenty minutes after that:(

I love that part but if it does hurt you and you still want to do the rest of it...before it gets to that part, you can scoot up in your seat a couple of inches and the little rubber thing won't come out far enough to touch you.

Oh no. I will be there July 10. That sucks because there are so few rides at AK anyway. Besides my niece was just saying how much she likes ITTBAB.

Seriously-I went in that theater once....just once!

This is blowing my mind in a nerdy way....we are going to be at ak on 8/12...we could be the first ones back in!

Thanks ROBO, I am looking forward to this in Sept. It may be corny or lame, but I don't scream at these bugs! :faint:

I hope they get rid of that hideous gas cloud (bug spray)! I'm not usually claustrophobic but that freaked me (and my kids) right out!

Closing an air conditioned attraction at AK in the heat of Summer. What lousy timing.

And if people keep complaining about it being "scary", the imagineers will completely redesign it to some lame Stitch attraction. If you want that then keep on complaining.

Horrible timing!! I hope they don't change it too much, we love it the way it is!!

Count me as one of the few who dislikes this attraction entirely. When I finally went to see it, the seats were still damp from the showing before. I actually thought a kid might have peed while watching the show or something and didn't tell a CM. The cloud of gas was just… revolting. And the screen itself even with those glasses was still wobbly and headache-inducing. I actually wish they would revamp it with something entirely new, as much as I love the movie.

Wow, that means it'll reopen right in the middle of our trip. Are they usually pretty accurate with their timing? Or is it possible there'll be a delay?

We like this attraction a lot, but the first time we to Disney, it scared my daughter (3 at the time) so bad she wailed and I had to run out of there with her.

Definitely not one of my favorites. The whole thing just kind of makes my skin crawl, and I hate the "stinger". I wasn't a big fan of Honey I Shrunk the Audience for the same reasons. I'm just not a "bug" person, even if they're fake bugs.

Count us as the Lovers!! Think it is an over the top cute and clever attraction. Hope it stays that way, and is not dumbed down like Alien Encounter.

Same here. I saw this for the first time on a trip with the guys, and I couldn't wait for my next trip with my wife so she could experience it. I admit that I got the stinger right on the spine as well the first time, but it's definitely more interactive than the other 3d shows.

I'm not sure what's so revolting about the noxious gas ... it's not supposed to be "fun"! Speaking of noxious gasses, my friend told me he would never ride Stitch again due to the smell that you smell on that ride, lol.
