Hey all! :wave2:

Okay, so I can't get a really good pic in my head of just how scary/gross It's Tough to Be a Bug is.

It's just my DH and I going to DL in November, (no kiddies....yet ;) )

I just have like, a MEGA huge phobia of cockroaches, so like, huge 3D cucarachas coming at my face would NOT be good! :scared1:

Any help would be appreciated! :thumbsup2

Honestly, I hated this show. Absolutely hated it. I refused to sit back in my chair and I dreaded the giant spiders. My family loved it but I absolutely hated it. I will not do it again, they can but I won't. Just my opinion of course, I know others love it but with my bug/spider phobia it just wasn't for me.

haha i feel you on that...im terrified of spiders! theres a huge tarantula in the show, but i actually still loved it! its sooooo cute that you probably wont even care about roaches...actually, im not even sure there are roaches. i know theres a stink bug! hahaha but its really cute and i really hope you go see it!!

Okay....spiders are okay w/me.

(For some ungodly reason my third grade class had a pet tarantula!)

So, I've never had a problem w/spiders.

Oh, and I realized, I sounded like a total valley girl in my original post.
I promise, I'm not dumb. :lmao:

The stink bug part is pretty gross, and I wasn't too fond of when all the bugs come down from the ceiling at you. LOL I've actually skipped the show the last two trips, I like it, but have to be in mood for it. LOL

Cool! So there are other people out there, besides me, that fear those disgusting huge cockroaches too! Who knew?

It has been years since we went to the bug show. We never returned after my son got jabbed in the ribs. He never wanted to go again and frankly it wasn't anything I felt I was really gonna miss. My DD-8 would totally freak if I ever even thought about trying to get her in there.

i hate this show
my son hates it he has made me promise were not going back to it
I hate bugs spiders all of it.

I'll be honest - I have to just close my eyes during several parts. The only way I can make it through.... The funny thing is that it really doesn't even look real so I don't know why I get so worked up over the bugs. My son was thrilled when he finally got old enough to "feel" all of the special movements in the seat.

See, this is where I'm going, "Well, we don't have to ride EVERY ride in the park!"

My dh said, "Why would we NOT do it?"

-BUT-

If there are other adults that are freaked out by it, then there must be some totally icky parts!

So, maybe I'll just cross it off, to be safe! :thumbsup2

I am terribly afraid of bugs, but it didn't scare me. It is a bit gross (stink bugs!) but it's not realistic. Some parts are surprising - the hornets/wasps/whatever, but not scary.

It's not my favorite show and it's not one that we HAVE to go to, but it's not bad. If you have not seen it, it's worth a go one time. Having said that, we've done it twice now and that's probably it. I would not go if there is a huge line up......

I do understand! I hate mice and snakes which is why I have to be in some kind of very-out-of character-for-me-moment to go see the Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3D show!

I think there is one scene where an old black and white film shows some big cockroaches maybe but its on film, not 3D animatronic roaches. And they do make some mention at the end about letting the cockroaches leave or something and your seat (under your rear and behind your back where you lean) will have little nobs that pop up to make it feel like bugs are crawling out from under you.

There is a giant grasshopper animatronic.

I am easily grossed out, not fond of bugs, spiders, etc. I love this show!! I think it's very cute and I don't have any problems with it. I say give it a shot!

I'm sure this isn't overly helpfuly, but I loved the show! All "bug phobias" aside, it isn't IMO realistic. It's Disney bugs, it's a bit loud and a bit damp and a bit stinky, but you always have on "out" on this one...sit as far over as possible and if you want to leave, stand up and walk out the doors. (Unlike TOT or SM or any other ride with a vehicle, you can leave if you want :) ).

Thanks for your input everybody!

I think I'll just give it a shot.
I think I was getting myself just WAY too freaked out! :)

I'm just gonna do it! I shouldn't just write it off point-blank without even trying it, I guess! :thumbsup2

Now, the teacups.....yeah, won't be going on those EVER again. Pukeness! :rotfl2:

Best way to think of it in my opinion is that it is bugs, but its disney bugs.
And as for gross again its disney gross, nothing that bad. If your a little kid there are a few parts that can be scary, though .

I hate bugs and creepy crawlies, but this show doesn't "bug" me, LOL. They're cartoon bugs, not realistic bugs. I think that if you can watch A Bug's Life, then you can handle the bugs in this show.

If I may make a suggestion however, try not to lean against the back of your seat. Sometime during the show, there are things that come out and poke into your back a little. It can hurt if it jabs you in the wrong spot.

It's a great show! Bravo! Be sure to give us your review after the fact.

I think this show is pretty Neat and Fun.. Being a Pest Control guy and killing bugs everyday, its fun going to this show and being on the other side!!! But I always Stand up and Clap and that one part when the spray comes in! LOL, Just Kidding....... But still, its a cool show......

The show is more startling than gross. But as everyone has said, it's cute! I really enjoy it. I could literally say the whole entire show and I love to sing along at the end. :p

Thanks Diznygrl! I'll keep that in mind! :thumbsup2
