Its Time, Hockey Fans!!!

Gee, my only brush with hockey fame was riding the elevator in Vancouver with Eddie Belfour. Unfortunately, never said a word - I spent the entire ride poking my husband in the ribs to get him to look who was next to me...

My mother is friends with Eric Lindros's parents from when he played minor hockey in London. I played againd Jeff Hackett and one of my x GF's went to school with him. I am friends with Jason Williams from the Detroit Red Wings that is just a few I know it helps that I played hockey with quite a few of them and I also know Jason Ward from the HABS.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm heading down to Disney World in the morning, so I won't be posting on this thread for a few days (modem is fried on my laptop, so I'm leaving it home). Anyways, I figured I'd do some cheering for good measure before I go:

GO HABS GO!:thewave:

GO LEAFS! :thewave:

GO AVS! :thewave:

GO FLAMES! :thewave:

I may post tonight or tomorrow really quick, but I figured I'd say goodbye now. Everyone have a great week!

Former Boston Bruins goon Lyndon Byers once held a door open for me at a subway station in Boston.

Another former Boston Bruins goon, Brian Curran, is one of the sweetest and funniest guys I've ever met. I was just a kid when I met him (about 12 or 14). He was at a charity event, and he just loved me and my friend Bobby. He would chat with us between posing for pictures. He told former Bruins goalie Pete Peeters that I was his favorite fan, and tickled my neck to get me to smile and favor him when I had my picture taken with them. He was telling us all about his wife Veronika. I remember him saying, "Guess what my wife is doing now." And I said, "What?" He said, "She's messing around with my car." I don't know why I remember that.

One time, I was at LaGuardia airport in NY, and my friends were late picking me up, so I was walking around, and I see this guy, looks just like Mike Richter. He's standing there talking to a guy who looks just like Wayne Gretzky. I was shocked, and wondering if it was really them. I had a hockey news with me, and saw they were playing a game against the Caps, so they were catching the shuttle flight to DC for their game that night. By the time I figured this out, they had already gone through security. It's probably the closest I'll ever get to Gretzky without a piece of plexiglass between us.

Well, with Karen gone, the trends will reverse and all will be well in the hockey world. :teeth:

Have a great time and enjoy Jellyrolls!

I knew a guy named Paul Higgins who played for the Leafs one season. He was the biggest goon on the ice and all you heard in the news was how bad he was. But in real life, he was the sweetest guy around. His mother said that his coach told him to play like that and that Paul didn't like it but had no choice. It was kind of sad because I know that they were so proud of Paul as he progressed through the hockey ranks and then he had to be the goon once he made the big time!

Wow, you must have been thrilled to see Gretzky and Mike Richter at the airport! And Brian Curran sounds like a real sweetheart!

You're so lucky to be going to WDW! Have fun!

Oh, just because I'm away doesn't mean that I won't be continuing to root for the same teams, Scott. I hope you aren't expecting the Habs to come from three games down to win the series. I've already done the damage.

AHHHHH!!! I'm killing myself right now! Instead of Domi I want March"I got a BIG"mouth to be the recipient of a Brashear left hook!!!

I can only hope for the 3rd period.

GO FLYERS!!!

I'm going on record that Kerry Frasier is the WORST referee in the National Hockey League to date!!!!

Lets hope for a big 3rd period for the Flyers. What a cheap shot from Mogilny it was a big hit but it was a hit from behind what a coward.

It hurt's me so because I was a HUGE Mogilney fan while he was in Buffalo! I just can't bring myself to like ANYTHING from Toronto NOW!!! Sorry Toronto fans but

LETS GO FLYERS!!!!

Well I hope you Philly fans enjoyed your season, because tonight was the beginning of the end. Toronto is clearly the better team, and Esche has shown weakness now. Sundin almost scored one from centre tonight. Leafs in 6.

Well another season is done congrats to the TBay players and fans good series a couple of the games could have gone either way but they got a few bounces kinda like we got against Boston. I hope who ever they play in the next round they beat them it would be nice to see them make the finals. Good luck the rest of the way to the Lightning. How about that Koivu playing since game 1 against Boston with a bruised lung cracked ribs and torn cartalidge in his rib cage. I currently have torn cartlidge in my knee and know ust how painfull it is so it just goes to show how tough hockey players truly are.

Did anyone catch that boring hockey game yesterday afternoon? Boring if you are a Maple Leafs fan, that is! The Flyers are CLEARLY the better hockey team and they showed it yesterday. Even with their backup goalie playing 2/3 of the game they dominated in every aspect of it. I predict that it will be autumn in Toronto tomorrow night where the Leafs will fall out of the playoffs.

Lets Go Flyers
