"It's Time for the MONORAIL PUB CRAWL!" April 2013 Trip Report**COMPLETE 7/14

I would have had SUCH a hard time eating the strawberries. It just looks so darn pretty with the GF...

Actually, ALL of it looks so darn pretty. I really like the little ducks or swans or what ever they are.

Wow, the tea looks like an awesome experience! I actually can't stand tea, but I would totally consider doing this! The desserts are so pretty and cute, and you can't beat a setting like the Grand Floridian! :goodvibes

The tea makes me want to have a girls trip! Somehow I don't think I can talk DH and DS into tea at GF. Maybe someday :)

Love the princess pictures too. I think the stepsisters are my favorite. They have a lot attitude. That must be a fun part to play.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I'm following along! Looks like you had an amazing trip! Going to Disney with a kid seems like it would be such a different and fun experience than going with kids-at-heart. :teeth: The tea party looks SO COOL! I could just skip all of the sandwiches and just have the tea and dessert! The Mad Hatter blend is one of my favorite of the Alice in Wonderland teas. I'm not a big passion fruit fan either, but I love that tea! I had all of the Wonderland ones during my Mad Tea Party themed birthday party a couple years ago. :)

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the tea! I think your waitress is a bit of a fibber though, because those 100% look like golden raisins to me! I am not a raisin fan either, but the scones were just so yummy that I couldn't help myself! We didn't get lemon curd with our scones, just the devonshire cream! I'm totally jealous. Can't wait to see how your dessert party went!

Love all your pictures! I've been wanted to go to afternoon tea for so long but I don't think DH will be up for it! Someday!

just found this and started reading! My family and I LOVE disney, we've lost count of how many times we've been (we live in IL and AZ lol) but my sister did the college internship and worked there for a year too. We haven't been in 3 months and I already feel withdraws reading your review. You posted this very early on, about the Cupcake wine, I had one kind and loved it! Had never heard of them before but now I want to try other kinds lol. Looks like you guys had a great time!

We have been to HBD several times and usually the service is really good and so is the food. We love the salad, maybe the blue cheese does make a difference, I don't know since we always get it with it. But our favorite there is the Creme Brulee, not the grapefruit cake. We have tried lots of creme brulees on property and this one is by far our favorite!! Actually I think it is our favorite period lol. It's double vanilla bean and every time we've had it the crust has been perfectly browned. This may be our favorite because we grew up with our mom using double strength vanilla in every thing (using the recommended amount plus some haha) so the double vanilla is normal vanilla to us. But I would recommend this dessert over the grapefruit cake!

After the tea it was time for the whole basis of my trip report: The Monorail Pub Crawl.

Before our trip we joked about doing the monorail pub crawl but we didn't really think it would happen. But we planned it into the schedule and it happened!

Emme was fast asleep from the tea so we just toted her around while we went to the first bar: Outer Rim at the Contemporary.

This place is right in the Contemporary by Chef Mickey's. It isn't too loud surprisingly even though it opens right up to Chef Mickey's. When we got there there weren't that many people there but it filled up.

I ordered the Forever Young.

This was delicious! It was tart yet sweet and so refreshing.

Patty ordered some really strong drink I don't even remember what it was.

We were talking to the bartender a lot and told him we were on the monorail pub crawl. All the people at the bar chimed up and said they were doing the same exact thing! It was funny. There was a couple and an older man that were all having drink.

We finished our drink and then went to our next stop: Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian. It was packed of course but we found a spot!

At first we weren't being helped so I called the server over by his name because I saw his nametag. I don't think he liked that, I swear I wasn't trying to be rude!

I ordered the Island Sunset, a very fruity frozen drink.

This drink was good but it was just so filling! Those frozen drinks do you in. That ice really filled me up. It was very fruity too and tasted too much like a smoothie. I don't think there was any booze in there!

Around this time Emme woke up! She had such a nice nap and was quite groggy when she awoke. It was cute.

Patty ordered a very very strong dirty martini.

All in all we had a great monorail pub crawl! It was fun to have a drinking hour and then go to back to the MK, even though by that time the tipsiness was gone.

We want to do it again but this time I want to have a drink at Mizner's at the Grand Floridian. And no frozen drinks!

Hi everyone!:)

I forgot to post that I started a blog! Check it out in case you are interested!

Oh yes, also I will be at Disney World in 21 days! That is 3 weeks from now! In three weeks we will be leaving Epcot PM Extra Magic Hours! I am so excited.

The monorail pub crawl sounds fun! I always want to drink around the World at Epcot, but after about 3 countries, I'd be on the ground, so maybe I should try this first haha! :rotfl: It would also be fun to go to MK after having a couple drinks! :thumbsup2

I think it would be so fun to do something like this! I don't drink though, so it would have to be something else... but still, it's fun going on a monorail resort tour, but probably even more fun if you do something like this. It's kinda like a challenge!

How fun for you two! I don't drink either but I think hitting all the monorail hotels for something fun would be really neat. :thumbsup2

I had never heard the term MONORAIL PUB CRAWL before so I assumed you made it up. Is it really a known thing? I've heard of "Drinking Around the World" certainly, but not this. Interesting...

Honestly, if I was working as a waiter I would LOVE to be called by name. It's much better than "Hey Waiter!" :lmao:

Awesome pics! :)
Thank you!
The tea looks fun! I have a silly question though. Do they have lemonade or any other kind of drink? I just am not a fan of tea; any kind. It looks like a neat experience! :thumbsup2
I am not sure but I think they do. i just looked and saw the drink list. It doesn't say lemonade but this list might not be right.

Espresso $3.39
Cappuccino $3.89
Hot Cocoa $2.39
Milk $2.39
Chocolate Milk $2.39
Coca-Cola, Diet Coke or Sprite $2.69

I didn't have a hard time at all!:rotfl2: It was so delicious!!

Yes, you should do it sometime! You can get something other than tea. It was such a great time. I loved it sooo much! It is something different that I have never done. I am doing it again in December!

The tea makes me want to have a girls trip! Somehow I don't think I can talk DH and DS into tea at GF. Maybe someday :)

Love the princess pictures too. I think the stepsisters are my favorite. They have a lot attitude. That must be a fun part to play.
The stepsisters are funny! And you should totally do the tea. Do you have a daughter? Just make your husband take your son off and just you and your daughter can enjoy the tea!

Hi! Thanks for joining. That tea was awesome! I was surprised I liked it so much. Going to disney with a kid was different but fun. I have been with my nephew before but we didn't really spend all of the time with them.

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the tea! I think your waitress is a bit of a fibber though, because those 100% look like golden raisins to me! They did look like raisins, I was confused! Well, i ate it and liked it so maybe I do like raisins? I remember your tea pics, you got the shaft with plain tableware. You need to a redo!!

Love all your pictures! I've been wanted to go to afternoon tea for so long but I don't think DH will be up for it! Someday!
Yes, someday! I highly reommend it.

Thanks so much for reading along. Oh the cupcake wine! Yes we had the sauvignon blanc! It was good! I would loe that vanilla bean creme brulee from HBD. I am a huge creme brulee fan. Double vanilla bean sounds even better!
How fun. The drinks look yummy! Which was your favorite?
I really liked the forever young! I loved the bluberries in in.
The monorail pub crawl sounds fun! I always want to drink around the World at Epcot, but after about 3 countries, I'd be on the ground, so maybe I should try this first haha! :rotfl: It would also be fun to go to MK after having a couple drinks! :thumbsup2
I know what you mean! The only reason I made it out of Epcot was because I ate soooo much food. Also i just got the little samples. The monorail pub crawl is definitely do able because there are only 3 stops!

I think it would be so fun to do something like this! I don't drink though, so it would have to be something else... but still, it's fun going on a monorail resort tour, but probably even more fun if you do something like this. It's kinda like a challenge!
I normally don't drink either! I just drank a lot this trip lol. My boyfriend doesn't drink either! Actually I made him try the grey good slush and he LOVED that and gets it all the time.
How fun for you two! I don't drink either but I think hitting all the monorail hotels for something fun would be really neat. :thumbsup2
It was neat! You could go on a cupcake crawl and get a cupcake from each place;)

I think it is known! I have heard it a few times. It isn't as popular as the epcot crawl but I have heard it before.

I agree about the waiter thing. He sounded a little put off by it though.

The stepsisters are funny! And you should totally do the tea. Do you have a daughter? Just make your husband take your son off and just you and your daughter can enjoy the tea!

.

No daughter. Maybe someday. If not my sister has a little boy too. I a hoping we can all go to Disney together someday and maybe my sister and I can leave the boys with the dads and do the tea.

After our pub crawl we headed back to the MK. We had a dessert party to attend, but first we wanted to have a little fun!

I took a picture of Patty with the new RFID turnstyles and the CM made me take another picture when it turned green. You can't really tell in this picture though.

I love the pink flowers for Mickey's eyes. Pink is my fav color!

The clouds look awesome!

The pink castle with the dark blue sky is sooo pretty! I love it.

Next up we had a little meet and greet with the characters around the castle.

Aw Minnie! She is my fav.

It was fun photographing with Patty because I am normally by myself.

After out photo sesh we wanted to go back to Adventureland. Patty and Emme wanted to ride the magic carpets and since I don't care to do that I did something that I haven't done since 2006: Tiki Birds!!! It was only a couple minutes till showtime so I decided to head on in!

It was very very interesting. Haha, I couldn't believe that I was seeing this. It was so corny. All of the birds were up there singing and I kept thinking I was going to get pooped on by the birds, because they are right above your head. I liked the special effects and all of the colors in the show!

So, without further adieu, the Enchanted Tiki Room

Patty texted me in the middle of the show that she left her wallet in her stroller and to pick it up but I couldn't get out of the show because it already started. I was worried it wouldn't be there.

These little poles sang. I liked the noises they made from opening their mouths.

And that is it! It was a funny little show and nice to sit down. I definitely don't need to do that every year though.

And Patty's wallet was in the stroller! It was all good.

All your pictures are so pretty! Magic Kingdom really is so gorgeous during that time of day. (Okay, during ANY time of day!)

I just did the Enchanted Tiki Room for the first time on my trip! It was definitely something! :lmao:

Oh, the tiki birds. Um...wasn't my favorite. ;) But now you can say you have done it at least once in your life! :rotfl:

Ah the RFID scanners; One of my favourite things ever. Clearly, I'm easy to please. :rotfl:

I don't think I've gone in the Tiki Room since I was a little kid. I really should if for no other reason than it was an original Walt creation. It's time for me to pay my respect! :worship:

And Thank God the wallet was still there... OMG I had flashbacks!
