It's Thursday and my Toilet Still Isn't Fixed . . .

DH took the toilet apart on Sunday and there is sits.

The problem is something about us needing an offset closet flange He hasn't been able to get the right part even after 6 trips to Home Depot. I think he got the offset flange, but the base isn't long enough to connect the the pipe in the floor.

Uh, I think it may be time to call a professional or at least get my Dad over here. DH didn't like my suggestion

I'm just going to keep quite and see how long I have to step over the toilet to brush my teeth.

Have him try a plumbing supply house (look in yellow pages).
Home Depot is not know to carry certain items , and I know an offset flange is one of them.

I am so sorry it is still not fixed. Maybe you ought to call your dad over when your DH isn't home I do hope it gets fixed soon!

You're possibly overlooking the real problem. Does your DH have the famous "plumbers crack"? If not, then that explains why its taking a long time to get it fixed.

EROS, I am not to the point of digging a hole in the yard yet -- check back in a few days on that.

I think DH is in over his head but I'm not telling him that. I just keep smiling and gritting my teeth.

Oh he also dropped our friend's drill bit down the hole

I am lucky, DH is usually more than willing to hand a job over to my Dad.
