DS to Dr this AM(he's been running a fever most of the week, and last night he shows me the bumps!!!) Yes it is Chicken Pox
Luckily I have had it. BUT other son(his twin) and DH both have not ...so please say a little prayer for me...
Yes they all have had vacines.

Yea...school nurse was floored--She knows my son must have gotten it from someone else in his school(we have not been around anyone else), but this is the 1st notice she has gotten.

Dr said it usually only shows up in December and around June...Lucky me!!!

DD got it 4 years ago (had the vaccine) and so did I right after her. I had never had them and I had gotten the vaccine too. Luckily (probably thanks to the vaccine) neither of us had them very bad. I may have had 10 spots on me.

Can I ask how long yours lasted? My sons is not really bad...about 20 spots so far(and I only took him because he has a heart problem, and must be evaluated if he has a fever for more than a week)...thank goodness for heart problems, otherwise I would have never known.

I hope you all do well real soon and have a great trip. It seems like CP is really working it's way through folks who have had the vaccine. My DS was given his vaccine about 10 years ago and I remember his pediatrician said at that time that the only thing they really didn't know about the vaccine was how long it would last or if boosters would be needed sometime in the future. So... I often wonder just how protected he really is!
