I'm sorry if this as already been asked and answered, I honestly didn't read all 133 pages of the thread. I was wondering if anything special can be delievered to the room at POR. This will be our first stay at this resort and we'll be celebrating 3 birthdays and a college graduation while there and I would love to have a cake or something like the white chocolate Mickey with strawberries delievered to the room as a suprise. Is this possible at this resort?
I had a cake made for our stay last week at POR. I called front desk of POR and asked to be connected with Boatwrights Dining hall and left a message that I would like a cake made. The message was forwarded to Soux Chef Ernesto who returned my call and said I could order a cake in 8 or 10 inch and told me the options I had and that it would be ready for pick up at the bakery at the POR food court. It was ready when I got there and I had to pre-pay over the phone when I placed the order. 8 inch $26.00 butter cream with with white chocolate frosting and cake. They do not deliver but actually when I called the front desk of POR one CM said they could have a runner send it down to the room if I wanted?

Wow! That's beautiful! Was it yummy?

My DH and DS loved it but I am more of a whipped cream frosting fan, but it was moist and tasted good as long as I didn't eat too much frosting!:thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me what the typical hours of operation are for the counter service/snack area. Thanks!

I think they were open until 11 pm and the bakery/ice cream spot was open until midnite. Breakfast around the 8-9 a.m. is crazy. Try and get there before 8 a.m. if you are pressed for time. I have to say the dining plan really seemed to be a big hassle for many. We chose not to do it but many times I was behind someone in line who was confused as to what was allowed as a snack or meal and many were just plain frustrated and would just put things back or just say forget it if they forgot to get their allowed fruit or cookie.

i have a quick quesstion regarding POR and disney's DME.....im going in august with my BF and surprising him....he thinks we are staying at POP but i upgraded us to POR, since we are arriving late at night we are going to collect our luggage and carry it on with us onto the DME bus, I reallllly want to hide where we are staying until the last possible minute, when i check in at DME would it be possible to have him standing off to the side with our luggage while i check in and find out which bus to get onto? im sure when we get on the bus that they will say what the stops are and the gig will be up, but does anyone know if ill be able to do that? :confused3

Thanks so much. That cake looks wonderful.:) We're a buttercream all the way family. I bet we'd love it.

We are staying at the POR in August for free dining. The rooms look small with the pull out bed. We have 11,13 and 15 year old kids. Do they offer a roll away bed as well. Normaly we stay at the Poly but on a buget this time.

The resort looks beautiful.

My husband and I are stay at POR in Oct . I came here to find some info on the hotel.
Thanks you for all the info.

It might be tough as they have lines marked with the names of the resorts. You could try to pull the CM aside and tell him/her it's a surprise, but this will only give you a few more minutes before the surprise as the busses leave at fairly quick intervals even with late arrivals. We got in later and sheared a bus with SSR POFQ and OKW. Late at night they put all the Downtown Disney resorts on 1 bus.
Thanks for the pictures Pixie Dust, they were great.
You're welcome!:goodvibes

I don't think they have roll away beds and a roll away would be hard to fit. MY DD(12) stayed on the trundle bed this past MArch and she was fine. She loves that trundle bed. She is 5'2" tall and had no trouble. The trundle just gets pushed under one of the double beds when not in use, so doesn't take up room except when you're sleeping.

It may be a tight squeeze on the trundle for your 11 year old, and I don't think you can get a roll-away.

We bought a twin size Aero bed last year and used it at POR (there were 7 of us - my huband, myself the 4 kids and my 21 year old brother), and it worked great! It fit nicely in the room, and was quite comfortable. This year I am squeezing into one POR room by myself with all 4 of my kids! My youngest is 7, and I am going to ask her for this trip whether she would prefer the trundle bed, or the Aero bed. If we travel again without my husband and there are only 5 of us, in the future I may need to book us a deluxe room to really be comfortable.

The deluxe rooms are great for the Queensize beds and the convenience to resorts. We've stayed at CR and at BWI. DD says that the daybeds at the resorts are smaller than the trundle.:confused3 But the rooms are definitely much bigger:thumbsup2 . I suppose in your case you could just use the aerobed instead of the daybed!:goodvibes
