Quilty Mom,

Glad you had a good time. do you remember which bus stop you used for your vacation?

Thanks,

Dr. Ellis:wizard:

I just heard that POR is completely sold out during our intended vacation there. 1/19/08-1/26/08.....eeek!

POR does have its own campfire:

Campfire on de' Bayou - From October thru February on Sunday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 - 8pm, guests can enjoy story telling and sing-a-longs around the campfire. This activity takes place behind the Fishin' Hole. S'mores kits can be purchased for $5.25. (This event can be canceled due to weather.)

Cool! I was there in Sept so no campfire for us :sad1: I'll have to remember it for next time, I think we are planning for a Jan. trip.

Cool!!!! I thought I had read that before! We may try to do this on our last night there!

We used the South Depot, at the Main Building. It wasn't the closest, just the most convenient to us. We just walked over the bridge nearest Parterre Place, then cut in front of the building, past the luggage storage room and the front entrance.

DH timed the walk, and he said that it took 4 minutes, but it didn't seem like that long to me. It's a beautiful walk.

We mostly chose that one because we could stop by the shop on the way if we needed anything, pick up packages, or catch Bob Jackson in the lounge on the way back to our room that evening.

We often go in late Jan and during that time of year they will have some buildings they don't use. It's possible they are sold out for what they are using but the resort may not be that crowded.

If you are on a package or discount, it could be the number of rooms that are set aside just for those rates/packages are sold out and not the entire resort.

I have been reading alot about a new thing they are doing around the hotel pools. I have read that they are showing movies on large screens poolside. Did they do this at the POR during your stay? Have you heard of this?

Hi!

We returned over one week ago from a fantastic stay at POR. I've still yet to begin my trip report, but I wanted to say a few things about our stay.

  • We had absolutley no problems with the bus service. The longest we had to wait was at Epcot for about 15 minutes. We wanted to escape the post Illuminations crowd, but the busses didn't show up until after the event was over. Other than that, our average wait for a bus was 5 minutes. In fact, in my fear of having a long wait, we ended up being some of the first non-breakfast people in line at AK!
  • It is a beautiful resort! I did take lots of photos, so once I upload them to photobucket I'll let you know.
  • Contrary to what AllEarsNet says, they no longer sell pralines at the Riverside Mill, and haven't for about 3 years.
  • We stayed in Parterre Place, and I would stay there all over again. I loved the location. It was a bit of a walk to the main pool, but there was a quiet pool just steps away from our building, which also housed the laundry.
  • It was nice, quiet and peaceful. And Beautiful!

I'll be happy to answer any questions if you have any.[/

It was probably a 15-20 minute ride. We made a stop to pick up at French Quarter and then on to DTD. Ot was an enjoyable ride!:goodvibes

Any Dissers going to be at POR January 18-26th 2008?

Calling ,Scottny..............I'm so sorry to have to ask you this again, but I lost my notes and can't find it on this thread anywhere. Awhile back I asked you when you left POR to go to Chef Mickeys for breakfast how long it took you to get there .We have a 9:30 A.M. revs. and would like to know when to leave. Thanks, I will for sure to put it in the P.C. this time.

Carriage ride question...to reserve a time, do you call POR directly? I'm not sure who I'm supposed to call to reserve a time! lol

Thanks! :yay:
