We just got back early this morning (the plane landed at 1:30 am instead of 10:00 pm!). But to say we had a fantastic time is the understatement of the year.

We stayed in Parterre Place in Magnolia Bend. I loved the location. We were in one of the small buildings, just steps away from a quiet pool & laundry, and only a 4 minute walk to the main building/south depot. I'll be writing food & trip reports once we get settled back into normal life again, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Welcome back! Glad you had a great time!!:thumbsup2

Just got back from 8 nights at POR we had room 8095/8096 at the Acadia Bldg we had a lot of fun and loved the resort.

only a one more week suffering about the rainy Finnish autumn...

My DH and I are heading to POR 11/19-11/26. We requested a king bed so I guess we will be in Alligator Bayou. Which building is the closest to the main lodge( Is that were Bob Jackson plays?)

Thanks,

I can't answer the room questions, but POR is the place to catch Bob Jackson. Don't miss his show. It's a 'must-do' for us. I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed that much.:rotfl: His current schedule is Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 8:30 to midnight in the lounge. If you go to his website www.yehaabob.com you can sign up to receive an email with his November schedule. Sometimes he does private events, so it's best to check in advance. ENJOY!:thumbsup2

We are staying at POR over Christmas. I was wondering if anyone knows the window dimensions - height and width. We are bringing some decorations and lights to hang, and wanted to make sure we had enough/not too much.

Building 14 is the closest to the Main Building followed by 15 and 18.

And 'Yes', that is where Bob plays (in the River Roost Lounge).

Here are a couple of shots of Bob taken a week ago. You'll just love him!

New here.

Minor correction. Bob plays Wed-Saturday...not Sunday.

I work at the River Roost Lounge and never get tired of his show. It is a must for anyone staying at PO.

Thanks! My brain said Saturday, but my fingers typed Sunday. :confused3 I even checked his most recent email to make sure, then still managed to type it incorrectly. :rolleyes1 Wishful thinking I guess (that he was there 5 days instead of 4 :thumbsup2 ). His show is a must for anyone staying at Disney - not just PO. We have yet to stay at PO, but based on info here on the DIS, we made a point to see his show & now we're hooked! Maybe we'll see you there someday - next trip June 2008!

The Bob show is Bob Jackson, who plays in the lounge at POR. Here is his website: http://www.yehaabob.com/. You don't want to miss him. He puts on a fantastic show for all ages, and there's lots of audience participation. My DH loved the way the piano rocked when Bob played it.

Almost changed resorts a hundred times theses boards can make you do that. I am looking forward to this resort and boat rides to DTD and the carriage ride. Might even try the camp fire and smores if time allows.:goodvibes

I would've loved to try the campfire! But we were so busy that we couldn't find the time.

There's also the fishin' hole, over near the main pool. The poles rent for $5.00 per 1/2 hour. They said the best time to fish is between 7:00 and 8:00 am.

One of these days I'll get all the photos posted from our trip. I loved POR! Next time we're going to plan a resort day in the middle of our week.

I do believe the camp fire and s'mores is over at Fort Wilderness. If you have your own car it is so easy to get there!! I think it was all of 2 turns, 3 if you include the one into the resort. We went to HDDR one night.
here is a link about the campfire: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/activity-campfire.html
Here is a link for Nov movie schedule BUT it hasn't been announced yet, all the days say TBA, but you can book mark it and check it later:

POR now has there own camp fire.

POR now has there own camp fire.

POR does have its own campfire:

Campfire on de' Bayou - From October thru February on Sunday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 - 8pm, guests can enjoy story telling and sing-a-longs around the campfire. This activity takes place behind the Fishin' Hole. S'mores kits can be purchased for $5.25. (This event can be canceled due to weather.)

Hi!

We returned over one week ago from a fantastic stay at POR. I've still yet to begin my trip report, but I wanted to say a few things about our stay.

  • We had absolutley no problems with the bus service. The longest we had to wait was at Epcot for about 15 minutes. We wanted to escape the post Illuminations crowd, but the busses didn't show up until after the event was over. Other than that, our average wait for a bus was 5 minutes. In fact, in my fear of having a long wait, we ended up being some of the first non-breakfast people in line at AK!
  • It is a beautiful resort! I did take lots of photos, so once I upload them to photobucket I'll let you know.
  • Contrary to what AllEarsNet says, they no longer sell pralines at the Riverside Mill, and haven't for about 3 years.
  • We stayed in Parterre Place, and I would stay there all over again. I loved the location. It was a bit of a walk to the main pool, but there was a quiet pool just steps away from our building, which also housed the laundry.
  • It was nice, quiet and peaceful. And Beautiful!

I'll be happy to answer any questions if you have any.
