Tell me the "little things" that make your Disney World, or Disney Land vacation so special. :flower3:

Here's a couple for me.

1. That first time you walk into your resort/lobby and dining area, after you get to your room, or unpack.(not when checking in) I always get the feeling of, "This will be my home for the next 10 days". :goodvibes I just want to soak it all in.

2. The first time I am on the people mover. That seems to be our priority when we get to MK.

3. The first time I am sore from all the walking. I tell myself, "suck it up! Your in DISNEY WORLD!" I swear I could walk another 10 miles.

What about you?

For me, it's the wonderful scent of the Swan lobby. It sure can perk up my weary self. It makes me happy just thinking about it.

A Friendship boat horn. Especially if I'm sitting along the Boardwalk people watching with a glass of wine in my hand and having my husband right beside me doing the same thing. Total and complete peace.

The opening show at the MK.

The Trolley Show.

The rocking chair on Tom Sawyer Island with that great view of BTMR.

The rose garden by the castle.

Getting to ride a second time on the TTA without having to get in line.

Watching my daughter dance with the Move It Shake It guys.

Gathering in the rose garden pavillion at closing to listen to my kids review their day. :goodvibes

The Super Secret Stuff that shows up with Agent P's adventures (I have never played it; I just like stumbling onto someone activating the cool bits :p ).

The monorail. Especially the monorail going through the Contemporary. No, wait -- especially watching it going by while enjoying a cupcake in the Contempo Cafe. :teeth: Also the Mary Blair mural.

The boat rides. I like all of them, pretty much, but my favorite is the one from Wilderness Lodge to the MK; I get a kick out of seeing the Contemporary from that route, there's always hope that a monorail will cross as we approach, and the fact that the waterway goes over the road delights me. :upsidedow

Sounds stupid, but the 3 girl opossums hanging upside down on Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain is my happy place.

-Magic Kingdom Welcome Show! (I tear up every time)

-The music to Fountain of Nations

-That moment on Test Track before the door to outside opens

-At the end of Soarin'...first when everyone applauds at the end, then when Patrick tells everyone to press the button on their right...and you hear everyone 'click' at once!

-The music that plays around World Showcase before Illuminations starts

-That moment of bliss on a hot August afternoon, when we're all relaxing by the pool just enjoying being there.

:)

This. Right here. Seeing little kids light up over characters. It gets me every single time.

Especially when its my kid.

Those purple seats on the buses

The sign over the Magic Kingdom train tunnel into the park "here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy"

The Roy Disney window on Main Street

Dusk in Tomorrowland

The lights of Magic Kingdom at night

Those furry creature details on the columns at the new Fantasyland expansion

The Casey statue that's marked my son's growth on every trip

The road signs... to the parks, to the resorts, to the World! It is also so wonderfully exciting!

This thread is such a breath of fresh air! All the doom and gloom and whining about FP+ and MB is getting soooooo old. There IS magic in the little things. For me a piece plastic around my wrist or only 3 Fast passes won't change that!

-Coming in on the interstate and seeing the billboards...even the ones for that "other" park. ;)

-Seeing the Walt Disney World welcome sign with Mickey and Minnie

-Walking into MK that first day and seeing Main Street USA...I tear up every time. EVERY. TIME. My kids laugh at me. :goodvibes

-Watching my kids let their "coolness" factor go and let the magic of Disney World take over. My DD had totally outgrown the princess phase and had become quite the tweenager. On one of our more recent trips, we ate again at Cindy's castle and I captured a picture of her with her head down and eyes closed making a wish with her wand. Brought tears to my eyes to see her let her guard down and let the little girl inside back out. pixiedust:

- Watching my kids link arms with me as we skip down Main St.
- Seeing my 2 yr old light up with excitement when seeing Mickey and Minnie.
- Getting back to the resort late at night and tucking the kids into bed, knowing we get to do it all over again the next day!

Me too! I know its there, I see it coming on the monorail, but just that first view down Main Street gets be every time(even on the same visit!)

-The smell of the monorail(uncrowded).
-Castmembers who go above and beyond.
-Having a Mickey ice cream.

Since our vacation always starts at Epcot, hearing 'We Go On' during Illuminations. Always makes me weepy yet so happy. :cloud9:

The first swirl cone.

Seeing the first bus pull up to the resort bus stop. :cool1:

- Seeing the purple road signs tells us that we have arrived
- Walking under the MK train station and into the Main Street square... it's what we wish the real world was

You took the words right out of my mouth! :thumbsup2
My WDW planning (ie: reading disboards) was starting to depress me. THAT's never happened before! Glad I clicked on this thread!

Aww that brought tears to MY eyes! I have a 13 yr old DD, so right there with you! My DD is too old for the full-out Princess outfits so for this trip we are disney bounding. It's fun!
