when spiders start coming into the house :scared1:

There was a monster on the bedroom wall two nights ago but luckily DH was around to deal with it. Today while he was at work there was an even bigger one on the kitchen wall. I dragged the hoover in and was just debating whether I could risk leaving it alone until DH got in from work (at least 5 hours) when it leapt off the wall. :scared1: I really don't like killing them but once it was running around I really had no choice. I felt so faint afterwards I needed to lie down for a bit!

Tomorrow I'm off to see if any conkers have fallen yet but I think it'll still be too early. Last year we were inundated with spiders and now I'm worrying that this year will be the same. Once I'd filled the house with conkers they stopped coming in - don't know whether that was just coincidence but I'm doing it again this year!

The big spiders freak me out a bit as they move so quickly. I have no guilt at taking out the hoover though but do cringe a bit when I hear them rattling down the hose. :rolleyes1

 Ugh ! I hate this time of year because of the spiders. I haven't seen any yet (though I will now coz I've said that :rotfl:), but I have my trusty fly swatters (one upstairs and down) so they can be squished, sorry but if they venture into my house, then they do so at their own peril ;)

I spend most of my evenings with my legs up in the air at this time of the year because you can bet your life something will run across the floor!!
We are surrounded by forest and there are loads of them...it looks like that spider scene in Harry Potter around here at times:sad2:

We had a huge one on the TV unit last night :scared1: Ick....

Was watching a film and caught it out of the corner of my eye. Sent my H to go and deal with it whilst I kept my feet up off the floor!

Picked my sweater up the other day off the dressing table and a huge spider fell off it onto the floor. As always I got the plastic glass and a piece of cardboard and got rid of it, hope it enjoyed sky-diving out of the bathroom window though!! I always try and get them outside alive if I can :)

Have heard that conkers work too :woohoo:

Danielle's just had a massive one run across her bedroom floor and go under her wardrobe. DH usually tries to save them too but after he'd moved the wardrobe out and saw the size of it even he reached for the hoover nozzle.

Wish you lived a bit closer to me, Claire!! I can do the glass and card bit if they're not too big, it's the giant ones that freak me out - this is what the one in the kitchen yesterday looked like.

Went looking for conkers today but they're still hanging on the trees. :sad2:

I went to a call in a care home last week & there was a massive spider on the floor by the skirting board in the corridor, fortunately it hadn't moved by the time we took the patient to hospital.

I've just come back from Disneyland Paris & woke up one morning to find one on the ceiling, it was only a little one so I could deal with it.

This last week, the spider population seems to have erupted! They're everywhere. Luckily our cats enjoy supplimenting their food with a tasty spider-snack...:rolleyes1

Oh yes, they're back inside with a vengeance :( Much to my dismay!

I went into our bath room the other night and there was a HUGE one right alongside the bath. I had to shout my Mum to move it, horrible it was! :sad1:

Yes, but don't they just sit in the hoover bag feeding off dust mites until they decide to climb back up the hose, twice the size and looking for revenge?

Only kidding.:goodvibes
Although it does sound a bit plausible now I think about it.

I hate the way those big House Spiders just stroll out across the floor as though they own the place. I've just shown a picture of one to our new cat (who patted the screen enthusiastically) in the hope he will get rid of any for me.

Once drank a mug of coffee...got to the bottom to find the biggest (dead) spider you ever did see...never been the same since!!
:scared1:

Yesterday I found two absolutely massive spiders in one day! One above my bathroom door and one at the bottom of my stairway but they were the biggest house spiders I've ever seen! :scared1:

Found two in my utility sink this morning so ran the water but they just started skating, hubby had to put washing up liquid in the water to get them to die. They were so big they wouldn't go down the plug hole.

September is a busy season for them as they are mating apparently! Great, they have the cheek to scare us all senseless so that they can get their wicked ways to make more of the hateful things :scared1:

So l say, conkers ready or not, will either stop them coming into the house or act as a great tool for throwing at the little crawlers.

Roll on October :lmao:
