My DS and I were walking to ride Dumbo when a man running with a child to get in line, knocked my son down broke his buzz cup and my son is now complaining that his arm and leg hurt. The man did not even say sorry

Some people are so rude! Sorry to hear about your son. I hope that he will be okay:hug: . It is not like the ride was going anywhere. He could have walked like a normal person and still got on. I hear rope drop is bad too. I know people want to get on the rides or get fast passes before things get really busy, but come on.......Safety for all should be #1. I wonder how he would have felt if it was HIS child that got knocked down and his cup broken?

Awwww:hug: the poor little guy! And it's too bad that the jerk who did it is teaching his kid that it's OK to shove past other people and knock them down. Hope the rest of your trip goes well!:)

It's times like those where you just have to take a deep breath, remind yourself that nobody can steal your joy, and have a very strong belief in karma. . .

Mean people suck.

If you were at DL yesterday, I will agree it was PACKED!!! :scared1: We lasted about an hour. We did DCA and then decided around 2pm to head over to DL to do Haunted Mansion....YIKES!!! We decided naaa, not today.

Sorry about your little fellow, OP. :guilty:

My Mama Bear instinct cannot be repressed without serious effort on my part. lol

I'm sorry DS got knocked down, by a grown man no less. How rude!!

Oh your poor little boy! What a rude jerk! I cannot believe people!
This does not make up for hurting your baby, but the LEAST that a** could have done was buy him a new cup! If I ever accidentally banged into someone and broke something or caused something to spill, I would buy them a new item/drink!

The Buzz Lightyear cup that you are referring to - is that the one that looks like a toy? I saw that, if we are talking about the same one! It looks exactly like a Buzz action figure with a straw in the top of his helmet! I could not believe how cute and clever it was! At first I thought, "Why is that man putting his mouth on the Buzz toy?", and then I realized he (Buzz) was a cup!

Sorry, OP, to go OT, but that is just so true...those BUZZ cups look like a giant toy Buzz!!! ::yes::

They are adorable! I wanted one for myself but didn't get it. Hopefully they will be around for a while! I know they are sold in ToonTown - not sure where else. Probably Tomorrowland, I guess!

The rude pig who hurt NicksMommy's son and broke his cup should have stuck around and tried to make it right somehow. If that is the kind of person he is, he is setting a terrible example for the child he was so desperately trying to get onto Dumbo!

This reminds me of a bumper sticker I have in my office.
It says, "Mean people breed little mean people."
I'm so sorry your son got his Buzz cup broken, and I'm also sorry for that jerk's son, because he will model his behavior after his rude, "I'm more important than you" dad's attitude! Harumph!

 What a horrible thing to happen. I think about how fragile my 3 yr old is and it makes me mad!!!!

I would have said something to him. In a big way. I would have gone over to him and spoken up after picking up my child and comforting them. I also would have told a CM at the attraction before doing that. You never know where that will get you (possibly another person/mediator to be with you upon confrontation), but it could have gotten you a free replacement cup either way.

CMs are there to make sure everyone is safe. That man was not safe! I just don't know what people are thinking sometimes! :sad2:

I completely agree with all of the previous posters! How rude, was that? Well I will tell you, to the power of 10, that is how rude that behavior was, and coming from an adult on top of it? Even if it had been the child that knocked your little son, down on to the ground, profuse apologizes should have been forthcoming, as well as a replacement cup! If I can allocate that cup, I shall send it to you!
I most definitely would have said something! Even if it was just a matter of my giving them an evil look! O.k. I still would have said something too! Going with backup, as it were, by taking along a security person, or a CM, is a great idea too! Just in case, the man becomes belligerent, which he would completely be unjustified by doing so.
I am relieved to know, that your son did not receive any serious injuries, as a result of someones very UnDisney like manners!

It always amazes me how people loose all their common courtesy when on vacation. I always tell my DS to remember that we can make someones vacation special by treating everyone with respect while we are on vacation. So sorry about your DS's cup. They may replace it for you if you tell a CM.

evilprncess96,

Ah, those are very nice sentiments that you are teaching your son. :)
I hope that you and your family have a great trip and a wonderful time at Disneyland!
How exciting! Your first trip! Remember to ask for your first visit buttons at City Hall at Disneyland. I believe that there are anniversary buttons too. :)

We had something like that happen two years ago on Christmas Eve.

We're waiting in line to go home at 8pm after a really magical time at the park. It was special. We're in line for our hotel's shuttle. But even though we're in this orderly line (with a ton of other people) these other folks come and kind of stand around in front of the line.

So the shuttle comes, and they all get on, and our line didn't move at all! and nobody said anything. I think everyone was waiting for someone else to do or say something, and there wasn't a leader.

So another group formed in the same spot, and I'm like um... who is going to say something this time? Is it gonna be me? Cuz I'll do it if I have to.

So finally the bus comes, and everyone in the line just breaks and competes with the group to get on the bus. Picture 80 people trying to get on a bus that sits maybe 24? 36?

So we're among the masses trying to get on, and this "guy" decides he's going to muscle his way through and pushes me and my daughter (i'm holding her, she was 3) to one side. (I'm a guy).

What do you do in this situation?

I'll tell you what not to do. Don't punch the guy in the side as he keeps muscling past. To my shame, that's what I did. I was just so upset that not only had we all (dozens and dozens of people) lost our dignity enough that we were trying to squeeze onto this bus (realizing that people didn't care about lines and order) but that some people felt they could just push us and there wouldn't be any repreocussions?

I regret to this day doing something back to that guy. I'm so sorry. It's been a big lesson for me about how society can break down so quickly, even on Christmas Eve, even after Disneyland, that we all gave up trying to form a line, and that people will do what it takes to get on the bus, and that if I get pushed, I have the potential to hit someone instead of being a grown up.

I was truly the bad guy in that situation, even though he pushed US over and into other people (I lost my balance when he did it).

I can't believe all those people (and me) treated it as if it was the last chopper out of Vietnam.

Dear Mr. pushy man, I'm truly very sorry for hitting you. I will make sure I don't make the same mistake again, unless it's really to protect my family, not just punish you for pushing us and making me mad.

I hope y'all don't judge me too harshly.

But if the guy had hurt my kid like your kid was hurt by the Dumbo ride... well... I'd probably be one Annual Pass short of being an AP holder right now. :(

Oh my gosh, I totally agree. We were at DL on Thursday and we were in line at Bengal BBQ and this nice lady came over and said that her family was getting up and thought we would like her table because it had a tiny bit of shade for the baby and there was no place to sit. Well the family at the table next to her overheard her offer and took the table. I was fuming. He laughed and snickered the whole time. I tried hard not to say anything. Then this couple cut in line at the BBQ. I was like are you kidding me. The whole time I was just like shake it off, you're here with your family having a great time. So what thru me over the top was the lady in line behind me saw everything happen and proceeded to tell that I really should stick up for myself. After we found a place to sit I was fuming and I ended up telling the guy that took the table that I hope he enjoyed his lunch and his table. His grown daughter then proceeded to call me names and then tell me she was going to kick my *** at DL. She was never even around when he stole the table. I know I shouldn't have even said anything.

Now that's Papa Bear Instinct! :lmao:
