It's our "Last" Trip to WDW, so we're going DELUXE! *We're Back After 11 Days in WDW*

I love those Privos and the shoes from Lands End too. What a great deal! Those would be great for me for everyday running the kids. In Disney I usually wear Crocs flip flops since they work well for me. In February it was too cold so I just wore sneakers instead. Going to go check out the Lands End website, Thanks.

11.99? WOW! I am a huge Privo fan, I bought "floats" for our trip last year and just adore them, nary a hot spot even. I am worried it's too much shoe for august (it's a mary jane style) and am worried about hot feet but haven't seen a privo sandal I love enough. I did get a pair of earth shoe sandals that I really like and will test drive them in DCA to see if they will work for August but am still hoping for a Privo Sandal as a backup.

Let me know how they work out! I wore mine in May, June and Sept on past trips and they worked great! Not too hot.:)

I bought a somewhat similar pair from Lands End last year and they are awesome for the park. Quick-drying, super comfy, etc. You sure got a steal!!!

Yay - that was a great price for sure!:thumbsup2

Hooray for comfy shoes! I am a flip-flop girl, so I just bring a couple of pair of well-worn flops to WDW. They can get wet too! :)

I used to exclusively wear JCrew rubber flip flops. Now I find I need something more supportive. I am definitely getting old!

Love the shoe discussion. It really makes a huge difference!!! I just stick with comfortable tennis shoes, not fashionable, but very comfortable. I'll have to check out the Land's End Privos, they look pretty. I did take some advice from this forum last summer and bought some Teva Mush flip flops, they are wonderfully comfortable and I wore them all summer long. I just love the good stuff that gets shared here!!! Glad to know that you got a HUGE bargain on the shoes.

Yes, I hear a lot of great things about Tevas as well. ;)

I have to admit I'm not over fashionable shoes. I bring flip flops with me cause I've learned they dry quickly and they are great once they are worn in. :)

Nothing wrong with flip flops!:goodvibes

Love the shoes...I haven't started to stress about shoes...YET! OMG, yup. Officially started now...:confused3 :lmao:

:rotfl:

Love a great deal! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I stick to a good pair of sneakers when I tour the parks. The first time I went to WDW, I wore crocs and ended up with plantar fasciitis.

Yes, Crocs did not work for me either. They gave me the most hideous blister. Now I only wear them to the indoor pool for the kids swimming lessons.

I'm going to have to head over to the Land's End site and check these out! I've been worrying about park shoes myself for the last little while.

ETA: So I just visited the Land's End site and came away with 3 pairs of shoes ordered LOL I hope you don't mind I copied you exactly. Then I added on a pair of water shoes and some Wedge Beach shoes. All for $33! Can't beat that. Thanks for the idea.

Awesome! Now we both got some great deals!:goodvibes

Haven't tried Crocs flip flops, but the prices for the overstock shoes on Lands' End can't be beat right now!:)

Happy April Fool's Day!!!

In honor of April Fool's Day, here is a picture of the breakfast I made last year for my kids on April 1st:

That's right - green eggs, blue milk, and pink pancakes!:rotfl:

And because cooking green eggs never gets old (either for the kids or for me), I did it again this morning. I guess it is becoming our April Fool's tradition. I haven't downloaded the photos yet, but I will post them once I do!:)

The April Fools breakfast is such a great idea! So cute!

What a fun April Fool's! Also, great park shoes talk. What a deal for those Lands End shoes!! How much do they usually run for? I used to wear the crappy Old Navy flip flops on all of our trips, but last year I wised up. I got Reef flip flops-- amazing! So much more comfortable than the ON or Tevas.

I have to admit you are the funnies Mom ever! That's so great and memory that will itched in your kids memory forever! I love it! I need to get a hold of food coloring and do that myself! soo cool!

All caught up here - phew! Haven't had as much time to hang out on the DIS lately is seems.

The party you have planned sounds amazing and I can't wait to see all of the pictures. I'm sure you have a lot of great ideas already.

Love the shoes you purchased and what a deal! I will have to look into those. I love the croc flip-flops but haven't found anything to wear when it's a little colder outside.

Great April Fool's breakfast! :rotfl:

Phew - all caught up! First off, the party plans look fantastic! How wonderful that your daughter is learning French in first grade! Love all of the outfits!

Your shoe dilemma is one that I share but I might have to check out the Lands End sight and see if there are any more of those shoes at that price. What a great deal. I found it hard in the cool months since all my jeans are boot cut, to find shoes that gave me a little bit of height so that my jeans wouldn't drag on the ground. Unfortunately, it was really hard to do. So I have given up fashion for comfort now.

April Fools breakfast looks great! :goodvibes

I think the shoes from Lands' End were regularly around the $40 mark, so not even a bad price to begin with. I have never tried Reef flip flops, but I have heard good things about those as well.;)

Thanks so much!:goodvibes It is a really fun breakfast -you should do it!;)

Thanks Michelle! Definitely check out those shoes...they won't last long at that price.;) I have been party planning the last few days...I will post some photos shortly.:)

Love the April Fools' breakfast! I may have to "borrow" that idea...

Yes...you really should. I guarantee the kids will get a kick out of it!:goodvibes

Hi Sara! I have actually accomplished a fair bit on the party over the last few days and I am off today to do some more prep work. I will report back shortly with my progress!:)

You really should check out those shoes or others at the Lands' End clearance...they won't be there long at that price!;)

Easter Weekend Update

This was a busy, productive and fun weekend for us. We had our regular activities for the kids (dance and swimming), went to 2 birthday parties, an easter egg hunt, and had a movie date with friends to see Diary of a Wimpy kid.

I also got a fair number of things accomplished in preparation for Katie's Paris Party.

In honor of Easter, we decided to make an Easter Bunny Cake, using a pan I picked up from Williams Sonoma.

April2010009.jpg

I debated about whether or not to add the green grass border around the Bunny, which wasn't called for on the recipe. Here was the Bunny without the grass:

April2010004.jpg

I actually think the grass "anchors" it a bit better, and covers up the edging between the plate, cake and end of the white fur icing, so I was glad I decided to add it.

Here are the kiddos finally posing with the bunny:

They look about as exhausted as I felt after we finished it - LOL!

After the cake was done, the kids were bathed and put to sleep, I stayed up late to get the Easter loot ready for Easter morning. Here is how things looked before I went to bed...can you see the eggs hidding, just waiting to be discovered:

Of course I didn't get any photos of gift opening or the egg hunt as I was filming with the camcorder instead. ;)

Oh, and finally, here are the pictures from our April Fools' Breakfast this year:

Aww, I'm glad you guys had a great Easter/weekend! That cake is terrific-- pastry bags/tips make things look so fancy!

Love the cake! And I agree, it looks much better with the grass. Wow! They got lots of Easter goodies! I also loved the April Fools breakfast. You're the second person I've seen that did this. I had never heard of it! :confused3
