Apparently this is a hopping time to go! We went to get a room this morning and could only get in two nights. Hoping two more nights open up so we can just stay on property the whole time. We're going 10/1-10/5 and staying at SSR.

I'd need to know what ages you are traveling with to give suggestions, but I will say even though you are not arriving until late I would go ahead and book FP+ your first day too, just in case. Thats a good time to book some rides that are outdoor, bc they are super fun to ride at night and see the park all lit up, I'd say Dumbo or Astro Orbitor, 7 Dwarves Mine Train, and Big Thunder would be my top 3 outdoor night rides!

So, I saw that Disney released a room only discount today, for late fall arrivals. Super excited, since our week was excluded from free dining! Called at 8:30 (waited on hold for almost an hour) and was told that there were no rooms available for my travel dates at my hotel (CR) or 2 others that I had them check (GF and Poly). (Actually, they did have a club level room at Poly....but I would have spent more to get that at the discounted rate.) Anyway....my question is, is this possible?? I know they only release a limited number of rooms for these promotions, but they were all gone in less than 3 hours??!!

I'm sure someone else here is more knowledgeable but I would suggest calling back and getting a different agent just to see if you get the same answer. When I booked our trip with FD the first agent I got was either new or confused and was using the wrong discount code to check availability and kept telling me the dates I was requesting were not included in FD. So I was forced to pick a different week. Later that day I had to call back because when I got my email confirmation I realized the agent didn't even book FD. The second agent I got figured out that the first agent was using the wrong promo code and the dates I initially requested were in fact included in the FD offer.

There is a chance that not everything was loaded in the system right away. Keep checking for availability online. If you see it, call immediately.

I am scared about crowds too!! Like to go in October because of light crowds..but was looking something up the other day and could not find ANY rack rate rooms available on our dates in ANY value resort! Oh my!! Definitely getting scared!!

I found that in the past crowd levels were usually 2-5, but this october (we will be there oct 3-11) we have anywhere from a 5-7! So much for going at a low crowd time of year! In the future may have to switch to September!
