It's Official!! FL Drivers Are The Worst

Florida has no "slow traffic keep right" law?

Unless the law has been repealed in the last 30 something years, there is such a law in Florida. My mother was pulled over when I was much younger for driving in the left lane. We were living in Miami at the time.

My blood pressure used to go sky high when driving to Orlando. The closer you get to Orlando on the turnpike, the slower the traffic. I am so thankful for the back way to WDW. It keeps me from inventing new cuss words for people that feel the need to drive 55 in a 70mph zone!

I'm from Florida myself and can agree that drivers around here are terrible. I partially blame the high concentration of New Yorkers that live around me though. No offense to them it's just that most of the people from around here are from New York and some are still relatively new drivers even thought they're in their 30s or 40s because they didn't have to worry about driving a vehicle until they moved down here. The Snow-Birds don't help much either. But it is what it is...you learn to deal with it *shrug* haha

LOL!! That would be me - did not get my license until I moved here in my 30s. However, I always knew the laws, such as pedestrians have the right of way. When I worked in Downtown Ft Lauderdale, the office manager almost hit someone and I told her that pedestrians had the right of way, she laughed at me, told me I was making it up. Had to go back to the office and show her on the internet. She was born and raised here. Another Floridian attended a ticket class and found out the right way to approach a 4 way stop intersection....she had never known.

Unfortunately there are bad drivers everywhere and with everyone down here driving everywhere, you just see it more than you would in other places.

What about the guy I saw stopped in the right lane reading a map on hwy. 192?

Its called being too cheap and not renting a GPS. OK those aren't too acurate since the last time I was there it took me to the employee entrance to Universal instead of the guest entrance.

I agree with the sentiment about a lot of people being tourist and bad drivers. I was one only because I was looking for somewhere off site to do grocery shopping and depending on a undependable GPS for help.

I like the ones on property that love to pull out in front of buses and cause buses to slam on brakes to avoid hitting them. Of course these are also the ones that blame the drivers for hitting them because they were too stupid to not know you can't pull out in front of the buses going even 25 mph.

Oh no you didn't!! I drive the highways everyday here in WI and people just don't ride in the left lane. There's actually a law against it, but I doubt anybody has actually received a ticket for it. There are also signs telling you to stay in the right lane.

I drove I-90 from Houston, MN to La Crosse, WI everyday for 7 years and an entire year driving I90/94 la Crosse to Whitewater and never saw signs indicating you should not drive in the left lane. I've only seen those in Illinois.

I resent that statement.

As a born and bred Mass-hole, I'm proud of our title as worst drivers.

Because, what it really means is that we found a new way of driving that the rest of the country hasn't caught up to yet and that we can adapt to any kind of driving scenario.

Why do you think we still have rotaries up here? Convenience? Functionality?

No, no, no... Practice! pirate:

"Big Ben kids... Parliament."

Are you sure you weren't in MA?

I was already thinking, substitute "MA" for "FL" and "I-93" or "Route 128" for "I-4" and I knew EXACTLY what he was talking about.

You should just see what happens on I-93 when the breakdown lanes are opened up for traffic in the morning/evening - those are the FAST lanes! Just TRY and take an exit...

I resemble these statements... But we not bad drivers.. we are the only good ones in the country...
