a formal announcement was made outside the hospital in Paris.

My hope is that the Palestinians will find a moderate who will truly try to work with the Israelis.

they are afraid of rioting in Jerusalem, near the Temple Mount. this is the last week of Ramadan, Friday is the Moslem Sabbath, and the last Sabbath of Ramadan. religious fervor and the death of Arafat can lead to chaotic conditions.

I'm scared - and anxious - to see how things go down in that part of the world.

My condolences to his wife and daughter.

And CBS just HAD to be first so they interupted the last 2 minutes of CSI:NY to tell me something I already suspected. Not that i missed out on the who did the crimes, but i was interested in the why. Nobody else interrupted the last 1 or 2 minutes of their shows to tell the world.

:wave"

I hope that all hell doesn't break loose. But, I'm afraid it will.

Israel has been gearing up. Here's hoping they're prepared for whatever may come their way.

Let's hope this will give the region a chance at peace.

All hell probably will break loose. Americans can't win a world series without rioting, I'm sure losing their leader will cause a riot. I just hope once that is over, a moderate leader will be put in place to create some peace.

::yes:: From your mouth, er keyboard, straight to God's ear, I hope!::yes::

I heard today that his funeral will be held in Egypt so world leaders can attend.

Who do you think is going to go to his funeral?

Will the US send someone?

Probably Cheney or Powell, if anyone. I hope no one. May he rot in hell.

Surely Clinton will go. They're buddies, you know?

I believe a State funeral is being hosted in Cairo and the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Burns, is supposed to represent the U.S.

Lets all hope for peace in that part of the world.

Ditto. May he Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.

I'm curious on how this will shake things up in the ME.

Rest in peace? Hell no, may he suffer the fate of the terrorist that he is. ::yes::

I read that some 'other' Americans might attend as private citizens. I assume that means Clinton although I haven't heard specifically that he would attend.

HUH?

I strongly disagree with your sentiments. As a Christian I firmly believe that God loves each and everyone of us the same, and that we are all sinners. What it all boils down to for me is this-Jesus died for Arafat, Hitler, the Hussein boys, etc. too, and He loves them unconditionally and wants each one of us to come to Him and enjoy Heaven in the afterlife. My Lord's wish is my wish too :).
