One thing that really lets me know I'm in Disney is the Friendship boats at Epcot. I could probably add about 50 other things, but that seems to really hit home.
Do the happy dance when we arrive, eat at Cape May, ride on Buzz Lightyear, smell the pie at Philharmagic and take a nostalgic tour through Carousel of Progress. Then, I'm home!
It's not a Disney vacation unless I get a DOLE WHIP!!! And go on Splash Mountain. To me, that ride is just Disney at its best. I am so fortunate to have worked there during my College Program.
...until I hear those diesel buses. Silly, I know, but when I'm in my camper at FW and I hear one go by right outside my window on that first morning, I get so excited!
I somehow despite having been to WDW 3-4 times a year for the past 20 years get lost and end up at the employee entrance. So for me it's not until I have gotten lost and been redirected to whatever park I am trying to find. I guess I'm just weird like that.
What makes a park a Disney park for me is that each attraction is an adventure, and I'm in it. There's a story, scenery, stuff is going on around my ride vehicle, and I'm right there, in the story. That's Disney for me.
