Hi all, thanks for the best wishes. I will wrap this up now by finishing the journey home.
We actually boarded at 5.50 pm, the skies outside had darkened which made it easier leaving the sunny weather as there was a storm. However, we hadnt counted on the airport being shut down because of it, as a consequence we spent 25 minutes just sitting in the plane waiting for the storm to pass. It became quite hot and stuffy whilst we waited but definitely better than trying to take off in a thunderstorm. We were all feeling sad that the holiday was at an end.
The films are the flight were Happy Go Lucky, Drillbit Taylor, Be Kind Rewind, The Escapist, 1000 BC, The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Air We Breathe, Definitely Maybe, The Game Plan, The Bank Job and Arctic Tale. Shortly after take off we were offered drinks and a snack. I had a glass of wine and some sour cream and Chives mini pretzels. I tried to watch Spiderwick Chronicles, whilst DH chose The Bank Job and the kids Drillbit Taylor.
Dinner was roast beef and mash me, chicken and rice the kids and cheese and pasta DH. The turbulence was pretty bad during the meal, I had to quickly cover the wine glass because the wine nearly flew out of it. A few people made scared noises as we plummeted but after being on all those rides it took a little while to sink it that it was quite dangerous. I tried to watch the film but increasingly wanted to shut my eyes. I managed to drop off a few times. At 6.15 am we were 561 miles away from Manchester.
We actually walked 6.7 miles yesterday which was pretty good as we were at the airport for some of that time. I cannot remember what the total is as I have not unpacked the piece of paper that I was keeping the info on, but I reckon it must roughly be about 140 miles walked.
Breakfast was a hot muffin (English type not the cake) with cheese, bacon and egg filling plus a drink of coffee. Welcome snack.
We landed at about 7.50, and were taken to the out of the way parking bay we had originally embarked on, which seemed to take an age to taxi too. This also meant we had to be shipped to the terminal via bus. By 8.30 am we were waiting for the cases which had already started to come out and it wasnt long till they appeared. By 8.45 am we were back at the SAS Radisson getting the keys for our car and we were on our way home.
A couple of hours later, poor DH driving, we arrived home and after a quick phone call to Mam and Dad I went to bed for a couple of hours. On awakening I went up to Mam and Dads (they live in the same road), they had kindly invited us for tea which was nice. DH, DS17 and DS19 followed.
DS17 had not been asleep at all and managed to stay awake till about 7 pm when he crashed out on the settee with the laptop. We couldnt move him so he stayed there with me till about 1.30 am. DH had gone up to bed but woke up when I had gone upstairs to check on the eldest. He then came down as we went up.
We then slept in till 1.30 pm, poor DH had to go to work. I suppose we will be a bit out of sorts time wise till we adjust but we had a great holiday and cannot wait to go back there.
A couple of notes to myself here are for all of us especially the men to take less clothes, to know the directions when we leave the airport ie look out for the 528 road, dont take any electronics other than cameras and computer because I didnt use them.
Hope you have enjoyed sharing our holiday. I intend to update my reports with photos when I get a minute so you can see what I saw.
I am sad that the holiday is at an end but have next year's all booked up which makes it a bit easier knowing we will be back plus I will enjoy looking at all the photos I have taken and posting some up for you to have a look at.

I am glad you have enjoyed reading my reports because sometimes it was a bit of a chore doing it after a full day out at the parks and just wanting to jump into bed but it will be nice for me to read back on now I have done it.
Only the hubbie is in bed now, the 3 of us are wide awake, jet lagged.
Bye bye,
Bev
