Morning.

The weather is currently very overcast and there is a high chance of showers today. Supposed to be okay from tomorrow as the rain clouds move off.

I forgot to put the mileage we have walked, up to yesterday we had walked over 72 miles. My legs felt like they knew about it yesterday.

Just trying to get the oldest son up this morning, the youngest is in the bath been there for ages. We should be moving out but looks like a slow start. It isnt too bad because we are going to Sea World and as long as we can do The Kraken several times will keep me happy.

I am quite looking forward to walking round the Park. Cya later.

Have a great day:thumbsup2

We love Seaworld-especially the Clde+Seymour show-the mime act has us in stitches, hope you have a great day.x.

Me too Michelle - I love the mime! I recently found out from someone's TR (can't remember who) that they do an evening SeaLion show and that the mime actually has a part in the show! Never seen this, have you?

Hope you have a great day in Seaworld - I am with you on Kraken! Love it! Can't wait to see the new Manta roller coaster they are building. Looking forward to reading more later. :thumbsup2

I am going to try and see it in December - we will be there for 2 days so hopefully we will catch it!

Sorry to hijack your thread Wicket. :flower3:

Thats all right Claire. We have not seen the evening show of Clyde and Seymour this year but have done in previous years and it is a must see. We do intend seeing it before we have to leave this year. Currently this show is on at 7.45 pm.

Basically it takes the mick out of all the other shows that are on at Sea World and especially the first time you see it, it is extremely funny. The mime artist is part of the show and is funny. It is a lot more funny than the day show and should not be missed.

Anyway this is what we have done today.

We left for Sea World at 8.45 am and were in the car park by 9.10 am. One slight detour.

This park has my favourite rollercoaster - The Kraken. On this one your seat is just like a chair which is sitting on no floor and has no ceiling. Its first drop is 144 ft and reaches speeds of 65 mph. You go upside down 7 times and 3 times it goes underground. It is really good fun. We headed to this ride first and did it twice in a row.

DS19 fancied doing Journey to Atlantis, DS17 didnt and DH tried to get out of it. However, he didnt escape and we went on it. Both of them forcing me to sit in the front row by myself (DS17 felt sorry for me when he saw me) because they have memories of going on it in 2000 and getting soaked which wasnt fun in February. This is another log flume type ride with a 60 ft drop followed by a rollercoaster ride. Fortunately, I didnt get soaked but everytime there was water I could hear s******s from behind me, as they thought I was getting soaked.

We spent some time watching the funny penguins. Some just Zoomed out of the water vertically and landed on the side. Another zoomed out skidding on its tummy. The puffins were another funny looking bird. We also watched the seals in their pool asking for fish.

After which the kids announced they were hungry and we went to the Budweiser deli. DH vividly remembEREd a huge beef stew he had there last year and wanted another. I think MY Dad would have liked it. Beef stew in a huge bread bowl. Me and DS17 had a hot turkey sandwich which was yummy. It tested like quality food. DS19 had the stew too and jokingly said he wanted dessert when he had finished. Me and DS17 nearly didnt get anything to eat because DH paid then just left our tray by the cash desk and was met with us laughing at him at the table.

We walked back to the shark encounter and saw - fish, sea horses, barracuda and yes sharks. We also saw a swordfish which was class.

It was sunny and very hot but you see clouds gathering. It was time for the Shamu show next.

I enjoy seeing the killer whales and it is the only plaCE you can see them now. You used to be able to view them by the side of their pool but they have changed this to a dine with Shamu restaurant. You can see them underwater if they are in the tank. I very much enjoyed the show and catching them jumping out of the water with my camera.

We fed the stingrays which is a funny sensation as they suck the fish into their mouths, their mouths being underneath.

Dolphins were close by but again you can now only get close to them if you buy fish at certain times. They have faced a large area off for this purpose and take your photo. So you pay to get in, pay to feed the fish, then pay for the photo of you doing this, someone has good marketing talents. You can still see them underwater.

The kids wanted to head to the water park and, of course, it started to rain (not particularly heavy) but first DS19 wanted to buy something from the Budweiser shop, so we trailed off back to the far end of the park.

The rain was a bit heavier as we left the park and went to the new water park, Aquatica which is adjacent to Sea World and owned by them.

We had a really good time in here and the rain stopped. We went in a lazy creek with double rings. A rapid moving creek where you had to wear a life jacket float, you zoomed around the creek and it was fun and all our favourite. There were 2 wave pools, the kids ventured into the deep water to be buffeted by the waves. They also went down one of the slides that took a double float.

There is a special slide that is a tube that goes through a dolphin pool. The dolphins could be viewed underwater and were black and white ones which I had never seen before, they looked cute.

As we left the park it started to rain again. It was nice to get back to the hotel and change out of our swim things. We are off to Walmart now to get some snacky stuff.

This is what we did and then went in to Universal. We had fun on the Men in Black ride and The Simpsons before returning to the hotel. The kids went for a walk around the pool and shop whilst DH crashed out and I did this blog.

I have now finished, cya tomorrow.

What a great day...I like feeding the Stingrays aswell. :goodvibes

I can't wait to go to Aquatica! You had another really busy day. I'm surprised nonoe of you are suffering with blisters what with all that walking!

I can't believe how much you have walked already. It's no longer our feet always complain after a few days in Orlando! Great Seaworld day, the penguins are my favourites, I always watch them for ages. Enjoyed hearing about Aquatica too.

Laur's princess:

Fantastic day :thumbsup2 .We are yet to feed the stingray's,will be doing this next year.We have stroked them.I did'nt know they had changed the Dolphin feeding area-so you can't just go+stroke them anymore:confused3 .Can you remember how much the photo+fish was?.Kraken is a no-go for me,but Dh loves it-he loves any ride-whereas me-i like Dumbo,One Fish all the kiddy rides. As long as it does'nt take me upside down or whooosh me up,down or backwards i am ok:thumbsup2  .You're braver than me.
I like the sound of the evening Clyde+Seymour show-will deffinatley be watching this next year.x.

Thanks.

The food tray for the dolphins was $7 but I think if it is like previous years they only let people feed so much to the dolphins at certain times of the day and once the food has gone that is it, till the next feeding time. I didnt see how much the photo would cost and I dont know if it is compulsory or not, I suspect not. Sea World seem pretty good at squeezing as much money as they can from their products. The shark encounter too used to have a large room where you could just stand and watch the sharks, like the penguins, but this has been changed to a restaurant.

I think it is a shame about the dolphins though and I dont see why you cannot go closer when it isnt feeding time. The dolphins know anyway and stay clear of the sides till it is time to feed again but at least you can get closer. Again this is making more money for them and also, perhaps, making people go to DIscovery Cove to get the ultimate dolphin encounter.

The feet are holding up pretty well, last year ended up with a severe infection that needed doctor treatment as soon as we returned home. It only got infected in the last day though but I had suffered from blisters and cracked heels. I usually have blisters every year but this year was determined not to suffer. As a result, I have been rubbing Berts Bees Foot Cream in my feet everytime I am back in the room to stop them drying out. Plus instead of taking one pair of sandals and one pair of trainers, I have taken 3 pairs of sandals, flip flops, 2 pairs of trainers and bought Cleo Crocs. I change my shoes everytime I come back to the room. This has given my feet a rest from a particular shoe and caused no friction in any one particular area. I think the area that caused the most damage is keeping shoes on the water rides, then walking round in wet sandals (the sandals are proper walking ones and quick drying). I have made a point of putting them in the central cover regardless of what type of shoe they are. My feet are perfect.:rotfl:

Anyway better go and start the 9th Day report up and get going.

Another great day, I can't wait to try Kraken for the first time this Summer :)

Cannot believe you have not tried it all ready. It is quite a smooth one, with a big drop at the start. Its class.

I loved them that much I bought them another pair to keep the first pair company.:rotfl: Bought the black with lavendar inside and a turquoise pair with white insole. They are really nice and suit my feet better than the traditional ones.

I have the turquoise ones too! They are really nice in the summer, can walk for miles in them
