Morning.

It looks like it is going to be another bright, hot, humid, sunny day. We are staying onsite today so have allowed ourselves a little b it of a sleep in. Though I am now going to do the packing as I will be too tired to do it tonight plus I need to know if all their new clothes will fit into the cases. I suspect not, nightmare.

We walked 10.5 miles yesterday, making a total of 121 miles so far.

Anyway the youngest son is hovering near me wanting this computer to check Sky sports footie so I will drag the cases out and do that most dreaded task of packing.

Cya later.:goodvibes

Awww, I hate that feeling of it being your last day. Make the most of it. I bet you will. What have you got planned for later? x

Oh no the dreaded packing day has arrived.Hope you have a good day still-although i am sure you will.x.

I hate the packing day too but especially as I always worry that we wont fit the new stuff in. Anyway this is what we did today.

Well the last full day and as per usual we tried to pack in as much as we could. Morning seems such a long time ago by the time we get to the evening. Just had to get my notes because I cannot remember.

You will be pleased to know we managed to pack all their new things in to our original 4 cases. It will be fun getting them in the Corolla when we get back because they have all swelled some what. So the dreaded packing is done, only need to fasten the cases up in the morning, ready for the 8 am check in. We can check in at Downtown Disney, check on the flight time, dump the cases then go back to the Hotel and spend the rest of the day at Universal which is pretty neat. I think we need to be at the airport from 3.30 pm onwards for the 6.25 pm flight.

We headed for Islands on a very sunny, humid morning. I will miss the heat and sunshine. We decided to do this park the opposite way round as we wanted to do Posidons Fury and Sinbad Show today and usually we do these after getting soaked on the water rides which makes going in air conditioned rooms extremely uncomfortable. It was quite nice walking, the wrong way round, as we noticed different things in the theming.

We did Posidons Fury which was quite good. It has a water tunnel that you walk through, you can see the water start up, then as it gathers speed it just goes round the tunnel. As I walked through I hoped it didnt break down because you would get drenched if it did.

We went on Duelling dragons, the ice dragon, and DH joined us for the first time. He is never keen on this ride as he feels a bit dizzy when he gets off but didnt mind it too much this time. Me and the kids like it and especially the near misses.

We followed this by lunch in the Mythos Restaurant, our favourite place and more comfortable in dry clothes. I tried the Mythos Fillet Steak which DH had had last year, the steak was melt in the mouth tender, served with mash and fried onions but all displayed beautifully. DS19 had a chicken wrap which he enjoyed and DS17 tried the salmon which came on a slab of wood, I thought it was toast at first. He very much enjoyed it and recommended it to me for next year. Every meal I have had in this restaurant has been exceptional. I felt really full afterwards and thought I wouldnt bother with the dessert but when I saw them I relented and as they are tiny (served in a narrow shot glass) I thought why not. Also DS17 wanted one for the first time and I think if no one else had wanted one he wouldnt have bothered. He choose the chocolate one, I had a carrot cake and DH a Key Lime one. Yummy.

A trip on the River Adventure followed dodging dinosaurs and dropping that 85 ft at the end. We did get quite wet on this because we were right on the front. It was 60 minutes wait for the normal line, we were on practically straightaway. DS19 said he had a headache, we couldnt see any headache tablets in the shop there but asked an assistant and she said the cashier has some. He pulled out a hidden drawer full of medication, so it was handy to know that they do have them in the shops you just have to ask. DS19S headache soon went.

They both spent a while squirting unsuspecting riders of the Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls at the end of the ride and Popeyes Bilge Boat Rapids at the beginning of the ride. They have a good laugh doing this.

We had one go on the Popeye ride and soaked through again, which wasnt a problem because we had swim shorts/swim suit on which helps. Afterwards we headed over to the Sinbad show as DS19 had requested he wanted to see it. It is a good show with lots of stunts, fireworks and a man on fire at the end. The latter I think is a bit strong for young kids to view because you hear screaming before he plunges into water.

The clouds started to darken and the winds started to gather at this point which signifies a storm was on the way. We managed to do Dr Doom, I screamed again. I have not managed to do this ride without screaming this year, followed by Spiderman.

On the way back to the hotel we popped into Universal and picked up a Mummys Hand photo frame which DS19 wanted. Creepy as a dead mummy. It was spitting a bit. We had just entered the entrance to the hotel when the power shower came on, how lucky was that.

We had a break up in the room. I had a nap as did DS17. DS19 watched tv and DH went on the computer and read the paper. When we all felt refreshed, and the rain had stopped, which for three of us was sooner than for one of us we went downstairs. DS17 and DH played table tennis outside for a while, I watched and also took some photos round the pool and hotel. When we went back to the room DS19 was just waking up.

We headed over to Universal doing The Terminator, The Simpsons, Men in Black and Jaws before picking up a coffee and a muffin from Starbucks. We had a final watch of the 360 show at Universal which was excellent. I love watching the fireworks, listening to the film soundtracks and watching the film clips, though a bit sad as it is the last time we will see them till next July.

We headed back to the hotel taking photos as we went and are now ready for bed. An early start beckons as we have to check in so night night.

You certainly packed a lot into your last day! :) Thank you for doing a live report it has been fun to read along each day. :thumbsup2

I hope you have made many happy memories with your family and have a safe trip home....you'll be pleased to know that were supposed to have a mini heat wave at the weekend, in the late 80's! :yay: :cool1:

Thanks Claire, that sounds really good. It will help us get used to the weather again. Just got up now and off to do the final checks. Cya.:goodvibes

Excellent last full day.I dread the 'not getting everthing we bought' back in the suitcases.I always leave behind every single toiletry-as you would be suprised at how much all that weighs.x.

A great way to spend your last day. Glad you managed to get everything in the cases and that you avoided the rain.
