Hi all, off to Manchester airport shortly for a two week blast to Orlando tomorrow. We went down the day before last year and found it so relaxing that we decided to do it again this year.

We are staying at the SAS Radisson which has a pool so will be venturing for a swim.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to check in online, just comes up with they have booked in the maximum they can online so have to check in, in the morning. Not too happy about this because I have two teenager sons, one of whom is a devil to get up. Hopefully the excitement of going on holiday will let him see 6 am for the first time in many years.:)

Anyway got to go, talk again at the airport.:yay:

Have a great trip.:goodvibes

have a wonderful time :thumbsup2

Thanks all.:goodvibes :goodvibes

We had a good trip down, sunshine and light showers which made driving easier. Back home had torrential rain so we got off lucky.

The SAS Radisson is smack between T3 and T2 which is so convenient. I had emailed the hotel to check up on the booking and requested a high room with a runway view and that is exactly what we got. We the added bonus of getting a family room which I couldn't originally book because the kids are now older than 16. Having that doorway into the next room will prove ideal in the morning when we have to get them up. I think I will threaten to sing, which should get them moving pretty quick.

The view from the room is fantastic to get you in that holiday mode. You can see planes at the gates and the runways just behind. Not a scenic view but one which is extremely interesting to watch.

We are just chilling at the moment after having a cup of coffee. The hubbie is having a nap whilst I do this and the kids (19 and 17) chill out watching tv in their room. They quite enjoy the novelty of sharing a room together. Thankfully the mini bar is in our room, not that any of us will be using it. We stopped off on the way and bought some soft drinks, snacks and a nice bottle of wine. Last year we paid a fiver a glass which is a touch expensive especially as we have just bought a whole bottle for four quid.;)

Anyway we will probably go for a wander later but just thought it would be nice to share the holiday with those that are interested and it is quite nice doing it at the same time as I am experiencing it.:)

Have an awesome trip! We saw the Raddison on the way to Bewleys last year and it looks like a great location, especially for plane spotting :goodvibes

Have a great holiday - noticed on your ticker it says HRH - are you staying there the whole time?

Yes we are. We love the Universal parks the best and after staying at the Royal Pacific last year we were spoilt and thought we would stay onsite again, but try the Hard Rock.

We did have a walk up to the Hard Rock last year and it looked class, so looking forward to getting there tomorrow. It is just lovely being able to walk back to your hotel on a night.

We had a little wander over to T2, only takes about 5 minutes via the sky walkway. I needed to get some batteries and boy were they expensive, won t be forgetting them next year.

The youngest son was still asleep when we got back in and the eldest cuddled up watching tv. We are currently trying to get them to move so we can go down to the pool or go for tea. So wish me luck.:)

I am sure that you will have a great time - we love the HRH - kids call it "the coolest hotel in the world"!!! I think eldest daughter, Kara, is in love with one of the valet guys (his name is Clay...look out for him) Our stays are getting longer and longer every year - next year we are staying for 6 nights....Enjoy yourselves and have a safe journey. xx

Sounds like you got a great room:thumbsup2 .Singing works wonders,i remember when we took our daughter to WDW who was 3 at the time, and tring to get her up in the mornings was a nightmare-but my glorious singing-or is that just downright bad singing :rotfl: always done the trick :thumbsup2 .Before she went to bed at night she would say 'Mummy please don't sing in the morning' :lmao: .Have a safe journey+a wonderful trip.x.

Thanks for the good wishes about the HRH, Girlsontour.

My singing is terrible to, I usually sing We are going on our holidays to the tune of lets here it for Hollywood but it does make people laugh.:)

Anyway, eventually the youngest son started to move after some prodding by us, he woke up and the eldest decided a trip to the pool may not be quite as bad as his low energy believes.

The pool was quite quiet virtue of going outside of the school holidays, a few business types whom you felt like shouting we are going to Orlando tomorrow but best not rub it in. As well as the pool went in the steamy hot steam room where you can quite easily lose sight of your family and a brief stint in the sauna, till my nostrils burnt out. Alll that exercise, though extremely, relaxing made your stomach known so tea was next.

The SAS has two restaurants, one more expensive than the other. We went in the cheaper one and the hubbie had the first of their, probably, many burgers and chips . The youngest digested a delicious plate of large penne (sorry cannot remember the name) and bolognese and I had a rissotto with chicken, peas and chorzo which was delicious. I always try, to try different meals at every meal. Service was really good and we got 3 per cent off with being goldpoint members, a grand 3 pounds off.:)

Afterwards, we headed back to the room and watched the FWord. Apparently, they are killling the calves that Janet Street Porter has been looking after next week. You know I am glad I am away, it would be like killing your pet and eating it.

I had a relaxing bath, love using all the fancy toiletries, before slowing sinking into bed. Unfortunately, due to not being able to check in online, a 5.30 am alarm beckons.

The eldest son, quite surprisingly has set his alarm for 5 am. He who usually does not rise till well in the afternoon, will he get up at this time I don t think so. However, he does have his younger brother to prod him and the threat of all his toiletries disappearing as they are checked in. Awh well, almost finished, hope to speak to you more tomorrow, till then, bye bye.

sounds like you had fun, your meal sounds yummy:thumbsup2
