I had a good trip to Ft Leonard Wood. We stayed in Rolla so I hit both Panera Breads -- a couple of times each!

Only had time for one winery tour (St. James Winery), but they offered 8 (free) samples. I must be a light-weight, I had to stop after 6!!! (my colleague was the Designated Driver!)

My next trip (next Sunday!!) is to WDW!!! After Labor Day, I'll be going to either Hood or Stewart for a week.

Happy Friday afternoon Js & Ks!!

I got a text from Elin this morning as they were in the town car heading to Roswell for the seminar.

We have a possibility of storms here later this evening -- I hope that doesn't mess with their flight home.

Speaking of storms, I had an adventure getting back to ATL last night from St. Louis.

I had a 3:20pm (Central time) flight that was already delayed to 4pm when we got to the airport. The plane was making its approach when a violent storm came out of nowhere and after a couple of tries, the plane was diverted to Memphis!

They had us ready to head to the tornado shelters. Lambert-St. Louis Airport still isn't fully repaired from the tornado they had in April 2011. It didn't do well in this storm either, several of the "jet-bridges" detached from the high winds!

Eventually (4+ hours later) our plane arrived and we were able to head to ATL! The flight took an extra 45 minutes because we had to fly around the storms.

So 11pm on a Thursday night, heading home from the airport -- HUGE traffic jam in downtown Atlanta!!

Good to be back home! I had to turn down an opportunity to go to Ft Drum soon because it conflicts with my WDW TRIP!!!!

I knew it was a tough day for you, just didn't know how bad! Your traffic jam was most likely caused by the home games for both the Braves and the Falcons!!

We never got the bad weather. Until we got home. The drive was just fine until we got within 15 minutes of home and there was a horrific accident on 95 that had us sitting there in traffic in the rain for over an hour. We finally got home at 2:00 a.m. After having been up for over 23 hours and doing all that traveling I slept for 8 straight hours (those of you who know me understand what a big deal that is!).

But, I am home and ready to have 2 weeks of teaching-free time!

We have two Miniature Schnauzer's, a male and his daughter. They are both small miniatures, he is all boy and very protective of me, not aggressive at all...unless you do something to me. The little girl is so delicate and feminine and such a flirt. I will have to post a picture of them.

Thank you it was a great evening. They arrived at 6:30 and left at midnight. Really glad I did heavy appetizers and a cheesecake factory cheesecake in the frig.

Congratulations, that is one of my favorite times of year. The crowds are low and all the decorations are up and sparkling. Note to self: Book WDW for next year after Thanksgiving.


My news is our entire WDW trip is paid off and my surprises for DH are all in place and paid for. I still don't know what he has planned or where we are going on October 5th. However I noticed he added passports to our list of things to take. With him that may be a fake out he is doing or we could be really leaving the country.
