It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

Yay for new updates! :goodvibes

I had a good chuckle about the candle in your birthday cupcake. :rotfl: Maybe they wanted to make it more memorable for you. :) So funny!

Great pictures from Astro Orbitor. It's always fun to see things from different angles once in a while.

Paula, I forgot to mention the Pommes Frites (or whatever it's called). It sounds like we had the same experience. I tried them for the first time earlier this year and they were on the cold side. I made sure to eat them first, because I really don't like cold fries. But still... I can see how they would be a lot better if they were hot and fresh. Kim's food sure looks good.

Paula, your cupcake photo literally made me LOL :rotfl: Thanks for the laugh, I needed that today :goodvibes

I agree, Storytellers is an extremely mellow character breakfast. We've done it once and don't have a huge desire to do it again :confused3

Great updates. I think I might like to try the Storyteller breakfast sometime. It looks like a more mellow kind of character meal.

I love Pixie Hollow. The theming is absolutely amazing.

It is definitely more mellow.

Pixie Hollow is amazing. I notice different things each time I go in there!

If I had to rate the character meals, the Critter would take last place....but still enjoyable. Stickers would be a great idea!!!

I have to say that the Tink you saw is the least cutest (is that even proper English????) one I've seen. Usually we see a really cutesy one with great attitude. I've never seen that one before. I love Pixie Hollow....but I feel so darned big next to those little pixies!!!

The Critter would take last place for me as well. Not counting Ariel's though as I haven't been there...

I think I saw this Tink again later on. I will have to compare when I get those pictures uploaded. The last time I went to Pixie Hollow last December I had a great Tink and we did lots of fun poses. I was hoping for the same thing this time but I had to ask each time for the fun poses and then they were limited.

Long time reader first time commenter! Loving the TR especially all the photos! Making me wish that I could magically double the money sitting in my bank account so I could fly across the world to visit again!

I'm glad you are enjoying! I have about a week left to cover! Hopefully I am done before I go to DL again!

Paula you have me laughing out loud with that character breakfast! From Syrup face, to Rafiki's posing to your bday cupcake. :rotfl:

There were definitely some fun moments but for the most part was a laid back quiet breakfast.

How would you (or anyone else) rank the character meals? We've only done the Grand Californian one and Goofy's Kitchen when there was a flood and we were served in a ballroom....

TK

I LOVE Character meals!
1. Minnie & Friends - but I find the best time is first thing in the morning... I tried later and the characters were not as fun
2. Goofy's Kitchen - Again best time was early in the meal period!
3. Surf's Up - I will be doing a review of this one soon!
4. Critter Breakfast

Again unknown about Ariel's....

Love all the photos Paula. The firework ones are great! And you got to meet so many characters! It's nice to have friends that are willing to do that. No one would do it with me either time we went, lol.

What kind of camera did you say you had? I am looking for a new point and shoot, and I love the clarity and colors of your photos.

I LOVE character meals and meeting characters! If we are ever there at the same time I will be more than happy in going to a character meal with you!

Yay for new updates! :goodvibes

That cupcake was SO funny! I'm glad it made some of you chuckle!

I think I took about 75 photos from Astor Orbitor... I had it on a setting where it just kept snapping... If I scroll through them fast it makes it feel like I am on the rockets!

Enjoying the new updates! Loved the fireworks pics :)

Thank You!

I'm glad someone else had the same experience witht he Pomme Frites... I crave the Monte Cristo but the fries not so much... and I LOVE Fries!!

I'm happy some of you got what Kim and I saw in the cupcake...

Yeah... the only reason I would do that one again is if I was with someone else who really wanted to do it.

After the Astro Oribitors flight we headed over into NOS to catch a ship through the Bayou.... Yes it was time for some more Pirates of the Caribbean!

So I think I had posted in an earlier update some of the Pirates on the walls and I wanted to catch some more of them...

(Some may be the same!?!?)

I think at some point in here we headed over to DCA for a little bit to grab some FP but with no pics and no Gowalla updates to confirm that I am just guessing!

Anyways... the next thing I know we did was we found Jessie & Woody hanging out on the Big Thunder Trail!

The line to meet Jessie and Woody had been quite long so I left Kim to wait while I went to get more FP's!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Umm.... I think Jessie was trying to keep the autograph book from Woody...

The barbecue always looks so good to me.

I agree with you about noticing something different each time you are at Pixie Hollow. Last year I wondered if there were new things or if I was just seeing it differently.

My all time favorite ride is BTMRR!!! Love all the pics you got!!! Yummo, the BBQ is delicious!!!

I'm tempted to go to the BBQ when I am there in a couple of weeks but then again probably not worth it much by myself!!

Thank you... its kinda tricky taking photos on that ride!

popcorn:: totally enjoyed these posts :cloud9:

Thank You!

I wonder if it is going to be open during the day while Scotty and I are going to be there in February. Hmm if the weather is nice and it is open I do believe we will be eating there.

When we had finished with our main course and had our fill of BBQ... and
beans... yeah... I love baked beans! I had asked for just a small portion more
and they ended up bringing me a bowl of them after quite a long wait.

While we waited the issue of dessert came up. I REALLY wanted to try the
Chocolate Chip cookie bake but knew from reviews it was HUGE. I tried looking
for a picture of it but the internet was very slow in that corner of the park.
I finally posted a message to Laurie on facebook as I knew she had a pic and
waited to see if she would respond. However before she posted about it we had
already decided to just go for it and order it despite it only being 2 of us!

So as we waited we planned out the next portion of the day. We had accumulated
a few fastpasses...
ry%3D400

and like I said in my last update... I have no idea when we went to DCA but
apparently we had as we had both California Screamin and Soarin FP in our
posession!

A couple more pics as we waited...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Finally our dessert arrived.... but not the way I had ordered it!!

I had specifically ordered it with the ice cream on the side as I figured we could take the leftover cookie with us... well it came with the ice cream on top so I asked for another plate and scooped it onto the side.

So therefore the reason there is some melted ice cream on my bookie bake!
ry%3D400

The Ice Cream on the side...
ry%3D400

The chocolate sauce!
ry%3D400

The cookie was SO Good I could not stop eating it!! I am almost ashamed to show the picture of what was left! But hey.. you can tell by looking at me that I love food so why not post it!
ry%3D400

Yes... I ate HALF of it myself!

Once we were full! It was time to head out... first stop... Well the restroom of course!

I wish the toilet paper really was Quilted Northern!!
ry%3D400

From there we went to the Round Up to have a look around.

Kim spent some time visiting with the goats which I know we had pictures of but I have a feeling Kim has them on her phone as they were not on the album she shared with me...

When it was done playing time of course we had to wash our hands...

And spotted a hidden Mickey!
ry%3D400

Since it was afternoon and the sun had finally came out it was time for a trip to a certain mountain...

It was time for Splash and to use one of the sets of FP's we had.

ry%3D400

And of course it's not a complete trip to Critter Country without a ride on Winnie the Pooh... it helped that the wait was only 3 minutes!

And look.... this man has Pooh on his back...
ry%3D400

From there we thought we would head to DCA to do some of our favorites and to catch some things we had missed.

However we would find a reason to pause before we had left the park...

The reason?

Princesses!!

First we saw Snow White!!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then we looked around and saw that Aurora was also out!
Some nice squinty pics!!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then with no more characters to be seen it was officially to DCA we were heading!

Man, those cookie bakes are delicious beyond words!! Great update Paula. You can do it ;)
